Adams slams GOP govs who ‘abdicated their moral duty’ as he announces new centers for migrants, not local homeless

Instead of demanding that President Joe Biden do his job and deport illegal aliens, New York City Mayor Eric Adams continues to trash-talk border state governors.

The latest trash-talking came Thursday, when he announced that in response to NYC being flooded with aliens, he’s opening two “relief centers” to take care of them.

“As the number of asylum seekers sent to New York City continues to grow, these humanitarian relief centers will provide assistance to newly arriving individuals and families and ensure they continue to be connected to the full range of services and supports they need,” a press release from the mayor’s office reads.

“Humanitarian relief centers will become the first touch point for arriving asylum seekers, helping people by immediately offering shelter, food, medical care, case work services, and a range of settlement options including through connections to family and friends inside and outside of New York City, in addition to, if needed, the possibility of direct referrals to alternative emergency supports or city shelter.”

In a statement, Adams blamed the need for these “relief centers” on the GOP border governors who’ve allegedly “abdicated their moral duty” to bend over backwards to take care of the illegals that the Biden administration is allowing into their communities.

“More than 100 years ago, Ellis Island opened its doors to welcome in those ‘yearning to breathe free.’ Now, more than ever, it’s clear that we are again dealing with a humanitarian crisis created by human hands. While other leaders have abdicated their moral duty to support arriving asylum seekers, New York City refuses to do so,” he said.

“This is not an everyday homelessness crisis, but a humanitarian crisis that requires a different approach. That’s why the Humanitarian Emergency Response and Relief Centers will be the first touchpoint for asylum seekers that will provide them with a range of services and support as families determine their next steps.”

As previously reported, GOP border governors like Texas’s Greg Abbott have been flying/busing illegals from the border up to liberal enclaves like NYC and Martha’s Vineyard to give the left a taste of the medicine that their open-borders policies are inflicting on working class Americans.

Working class Americans like the farmer who was profiled in the piece below:

The farmer recently went viral after he posted a video to TikTok showing a group of illegal aliens — one of many such groups — bull-rushing his family’s homes.

“These guys just bull-rushed our houses. I mean trying to open doors, trying to get in. Not everyone is that and I’m in agreement with that, but these guys were trying to get away and get into our houses. That was pretty bad,” the farmer said in an interview.

Critics say Adams has a lot of nerve to talk about “moral duty” in the face of all that border state/city families such as this one have to deal with on a daily basis.

Critics also say that Adams is ignoring HIS “moral duty” to keep the streets of NYC safe and take care of the Big Apple’s growing population of homeless residents.

Look:

All this said, there’s a catch to Adams’ plans. The “relief centers” will only provide support for 24 to 96 hours.

“Asylum seekers who do not or cannot find immediate housing will stay at humanitarian relief centers for approximately 24 to 96 hours (these times are subject to change depending on the situation). The additional assessment time will ensure asylum seekers understand their options and can get to their desired destination quickly and smoothly,” according to the press release.

And so what’ll happen to the illegals who have nowhere to go, hmm?
