A new report coming out of Massachusetts claims that over 480,000 residents, or 10% of the state’s workforce, are not proficient in English, and somehow they don’t seem to have a clue why that is.

The answer, of course, lies with open borders and illegal immigration. The report was released by MassInc and UMass Donahue on Wednesday. It also states that the number of 480,000 they came up with could be undercounted which is almost assuredly the case. The numbers came from the 2022 Census estimates.

The Boston Herald is reporting that the lack of English-speaking workers presents “another challenge for an economy that continues to lose many taxpayers to other states with lower taxes and cost of living.”

The coddling of those breaking the law by entering the country illegally and demanding freebies, as well as over-taxation and crushing regulations, are all due to progressive leadership in the deep blue state. It’s not hard to figure out why people are fleeing the state.

You can add they are here illegally, have zero skills, are being supported by the taxpayer. Educational funds are being diverted to the illegals’ children. Community centers are taken over to house them. Too bad the fake news sat quiet for 3 1/2 years about this.

“The report urges state officials to accommodate the growing number of immigrants that could ‘contribute at their full potential to the commonwealth’s social and economic vitality.’ Furthermore, the report states that if state officials were to boost LEP skills by one level of proficiency, it could generate $3 billion in additional annual earnings to local economies,” Fox News reported.

“Therefore, due to the influx of migrants, it warrants an urgent need to expand access to ‘English for Speakers of Other Languages’ (ESOL) services,” the media outlet added.

It should be noted that migrants have been coming to the US legally since the country came into being. Upon arrival, they usually set out to learn English on their own, without help from the federal government.

“Nearly two decades later, additional investment to increase access to ESOL is more critical than ever. For, while Massachusetts has developed many creative models to deliver these services, state and federal ESOL spending has not kept pace with the growth of our foreign-born population,” the report states not mentioning the fact that many illegal immigrants have no desire to learn English or assimilate period.

Gov. Maura Healey is currently feeling the heat in her state over illegal immigration and announced on Tuesday that she would be implementing new restrictions, putting Massachusetts families first when it comes to services.

The state has been flooded with illegal immigrants and the cost of housing and feeding them is straining resources to the breaking point.

“Our administration has taken significant action over the past year to make the system more sustainable and help families leave shelters for stable housing. But with Congress continuing to fail to act on immigration reform, we need to make more changes,” Gov. Healey said in a statement, passing the blame to Republicans when it squarely lies with President Biden and his administration.

“Healey announced last month that she had sent members of her administration to the Texas border, citing ‘record’ numbers of migrants coming to Boston,” Fox News noted.

“Officials will make connections with federal agencies, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and migrant families ‘to educate them about the lack of shelter availability in Massachusetts,'” the outlet added.

The whining from blue states comes after governors of red states such as Texas and Florida decided to share the wealth as Biden threw open the borders letting millions of illegal immigrants swarm in. Many don’t speak English and there are criminals and terrorists in the mix as well. When they were flown and bused into blue states, the screeching could be heard across the country.

Instead of demanding that the president secure the border, leftist governors and mayors continue to blame Republicans and demand ever-increasing amounts of federal funding to handle the problem. That will not handle the situation any more than throwing billions at the homeless crisis.

The leftists also want expedited work permits so illegal immigrants can get jobs, taking their appointed place in the lower class and presumably voting Democrat from here on out.
