Both sides UNLOAD on ‘Sith Lord’ Dick Cheney for Trump-bashing ad touting his ‘wretched’ daughter

Conservatives and liberals united in shared disgust Thursday after Rep. Liz Cheney, an ostensible Republican, posted an ad featuring her disgraced father, former Vice President Dick Cheney, endorsing her as per her upcoming primary race in Wyoming.

What made the ad particularly “pathetic,” according to critics, is that it wasn’t even about her. It was all about her arch-nemesis, former President Donald Trump.

Throughout the one-minute ad, Cheney’s father repeatedly cried and moaned about big, bad Trump. In many ways, he sounded just like his daughter.

Watch:

“In our nation’s 246-year history, there has never been an individual who’s a greater threat to our republic than Donald Trump. He tried to steal the last election using lies and violence to keep himself in power after the voters had rejected him. He is a coward. A real man wouldn’t lie to his supporters. He lost his election, and he lost big. I know it. He knows it. And deep down, I think most Republicans know it,” he said.

“Lynne [Cheney’s wife] and I are so proud of Liz for standing up for the truth, doing what’s right, honoring her oath to the Constitution when so many in our party are too scared to do so. Liz is fearless. She never backs down from a fight. There is nothing more important she will ever do than lead the effort to make sure Donald Trump is never again near the Oval Office. And she will succeed. I am Dick Cheney. I proudly voted for my daughter. I hope you will too.”

Critics were left mesmerized by his remarkable claims, particularly the one about his daughter’s efforts to oust Trump being the most “important” thing she’ll ever do.

It was telling, critics said, given as the Jan. 6th committee’s stated goal is to uncover the truth about Jan. 6th, not go on a witch-hunt against Trump.

It was also telling, given as most politicians aspire for greater accomplishments like reducing poverty, stopping crime, making the world a fairer place, etc.

Critics were also taken aback by the hyperbolic claim that “there has never been an individual who’s a greater threat to our republic than Donald Trump.”

But most of all, critics were disgusted that Cheney would rely on the architect of the Iraq War to try and boost her flailing image ahead of an election she’s poised to lose.

Recall that her father helped boost the weapons of mass destruction lie.

“Cheney undercut the CIA by instructing subordinates in that agency to stovepipe raw intelligence directly to his office. He also worked with Donald Rumsfeld to establish an alternative intelligence agency within the Pentagon. Both of these actions directly contributed to the faulty information that informed the decision to go to war,” according to The Atlantic.

As far as many liberals (and even conservatives) are concerned, her father is a straight-up war criminal.

Look (*Language warning):

If Cheney’s goal in producing the ad was to convince more Wyoming residents to vote for her, it appears she’s failed spectacularly.
