Ya’ara Saks, a Canadian parliament member, sparked outrage when she claimed that saying “honk honk” as a show of support for the “Freedom Convoy” is somehow an “acronym for Heil Hitler.”
“How many guns need to be seized? How much vitriol do we have to see of ‘honk honk’ which is an acronym for ‘Heil Hitler’ do we need to see by these protesters on social media?” Saks inquired in a brief video clip that quickly made the rounds on the aforementioned social media.

As the internet pointed and laughed at Saks, she decided to double-down, dropping a thread by a self-described “antifascist” who apparently got her information from 4Chan, if you can believe it.
“For those who think that “Honk Honk” is some innocuous joke. I’ll just leave this here.”

Needless to say, Twitter users were quick to pile on:
That is either parody or the most ridiculous stretch I have ever heard an adult make. Perhaps you should open a dictionary and look up ‘honk’. Or do you also believe dogs are divine mystical beings because the word spelled backwards is God? Or how about the tooth fairy?

This is deeply disturbing—just not in the way you think it is. You need help.

Without any terrorist charges or any info on any large extremists groups connected to the convoy. It’s wild how this got passed.

Actually, it’s because it’s the sound a truck makes.
