DeSantis strips Hyatt Regency Miami’s liquor license for allowing children at drag queen show

While the left describes protecting the innocence of children as fascism, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis isn’t messing around when it comes to “family-friendly” drag shows that expose young children to sexually inappropriate content.

The DeSantis administration announced on Tuesday that it will revoke the Hyatt Regency Miami’s alcohol license for hosting a “sexually explicit show with children present,” according to a statement released by the governor’s office.

“A Drag Queen Christmas” performed at the James L. Knight Center on Dec. 27, 2022, and children were reportedly allowed to attend despite a warning from the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation — the Hyatt Regency Miami owns the liquor license at the facility.

“Therefore, the Department is revoking the venue’s license for the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages,” the statement said. “Sexually explicit content is not appropriate to display to children and doing so violates Florida law. Governor DeSantis stands up for the innocence of children in the classroom and throughout Florida.”

A complaint filed by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation said performers showed their prosthetic breasts and genitals during the performance, intentionally exposed their rears, were “simulating masturbation” and had “graphic depictions of childbirth and/or abortion,” according to Fox News.

DeSantis spokesman Bryan Griffin warned venues hosting dates on the Christmas tour back in December: “Exposing children to sexually explicit activity is a crime in Florida, and such action violates the Department’s licensing standards for operating a business and holding a liquor license.”

An Orlando venue, The Plaza Live, had its liquor license revoked after the explicit Christmas drag queen show was held there with children in the audience.

“If you allow children to attend the Drag Fans drag show at your facility, you are putting your license in jeopardy,” the DBPR warned the facility ahead of time,

And while the left is in an uproar, there is widespread support for Florida taking a stand to protect children, as seen on Twitter:
