There are just some crimes in the world that make you scratch your head and ask “why?”
A $50 reward has been offered for any information leading to the safe return of a 14-foot tall skeleton that was removed from an Austin, Texas home’s lawn last Saturday.
Ring doorbell footage shows a large white SUV parked on the curb right next to the gargantuan decoration. A person gets out, pops the back hatch, and approaches the skeleton as if they are going to somehow get it to fit in their vehicle.
Clearly, this was a spur-of-the-moment crime, as someone who had thought about it for more than a minute would realize it would take a much larger vehicle to transport it.

This must be the quietest neighborhood in America, because at no point did anyone walk by, look out the window or call the police to alert them that there is a skeleton stealer afoot. Unfortunately, the footage ends before we can figure out just how the bungling burglar made off with their ill-gotten bones.
While this crime is obviously a huge violation of the home owner’s privacy, as well as theft of their property, the comical element was not lost on social media:
nah i gotta see the rest
