Fetterman ‘incapable of speech or coherent thought’ in Senate hearing train wreck

The Democratic Party’s cruelty to the elderly and handicapped has been an excruciating thing to watch and a fine example of the abuse was on full display during a Tuesday hearing where Senator John Fetterman (D-Pa.) was barely able to stumble his way through the questioning of a bank executive in a dumpster fire of a performance that did little to quell those who have questioned his fitness for the job.

With a chance to shine and silence his critics, the hulking leftist lawmaker was cleaned up for the occasion, wearing a suit and tie instead of his signature grungy hoodie and shorts that look like they were just fished out of a dumpster, and at the Senate Banking Committee hearing, he was in a perfect position to show his detractors that they are wrong by raking the former CEO of failed Silicon Valley Bank over the coals, a golden opportunity to showcase his chops as Pennsylvania’s new senator.

But instead of stepping up, Fetterman face-planted in a torturous round of questioning that even surpassed the unmitigated disaster of his first committee hearing last month right after he returned to work after a two-month hiatus when he underwent treatment for clinical depression at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, with his time in the mental ward being a possible excuse for his lack of sharpness, but there was no such excuse on Tuesday.

In addition to struggling mightly with his words and thoughts, Fetterman raised eyebrows by bringing up a completely unrelated issue, his claim that Republicans are seeking to cut benefits for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) recipients, a sudden detour that left SVB CEO Greg Becker baffled over the out of place question.

Fetterman, who won the election in November by beating out GOP candidate and celebrity television physician Dr. Mehmet Oz was able to overcome concerns about his capability to perform after he suffered a debilitating stroke before the Democrat primary last year. And that was with much help from a friendly media that carried him across the finish line in a demonstration of how little his party cares about his wellbeing, only that the then-lieutenant governor of Pennsylvania could be used to lock down their continued control of the Senate to relentlessly advance the agenda of another cognitively impaired Democrat from the Keystone State, President Joe Biden.

Twitter reacted to Fetterman’s torturous performance at the hearing.

“John Fetterman is incapable of speech or coherent thought. Good job, Pennsylvania,” tweeted nationally syndicated radio host Clay Travis, the founder of Outkick.com.

Other reactions to Fetterman’s ugly performance drew many colorful comparisons including being likened to a “drunk toddler” by MAGA influencer DC Draino..

Democrats’ abuse of the cognitively damaged Fetterman pales in comparison to that of his 89-year-old colleague, Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) who returned to Washington, D.C. last week after over two months away, at least partially due to a reported case of shingles. But it is painfully obvious that DiFi, who refuses to retire, may be totally senile and, according to one account, she thought that she had never left D.C.

Slate reporter Jim Newell wrote of what he described as a “brief, concerning conversation” with the senator whom he and another journalist bumped into on Tuesday as she was being wheeled out of an elevator.

“When the fellow reporter asked her what the response from her colleagues had been like since her return, though, the conversation took an odd turn,” he recalled. “’No, I haven’t been gone,’ she said.”

“’You should follow the—I haven’t been gone. I’ve been working,’” Newell wrote. “When asked whether she meant that she’d been working from home, she turned feisty.’No, I’ve been here. I’ve been voting,’ she said. ‘Please. You either know or don’t know.’”

Fetterman and DiFi’s struggles will likely worsen with party leaders unwilling to pull the plug on either of them who are rubber stamps for Biden’s extremist policies.
