‘He shot my arm off!’ Elderly store owner in Calif. turns the tables on armed robbers

An elderly store owner in California turned the tables on a group of armed robbers, but his heroic actions didn’t come without a serious cost.

The remarkable incident was captured on surveillance camera, including the moment one of the would-be robbers beat a hasty retreat crying out, “He shot my arm off!”

The masked crook was wearing an orange and black hoodie and can be seen entering the Norco Market & Liquor store, located just east of Los Angeles, with an AR-15-style rifle in the wee hours of the morning Sunday. He aimed the weapon at the store owner and in an attempt to get the man’s attention, appeared to call out, “Hey!”

But there was no need for such announcements, as he already had the store owner’s full attention. The elderly man can be seen springing into action even before the criminal entered the store, retrieving a shotgun next to him and blasting the armed robber who has his rifle raised.

The sad sack ran away screaming and another camera outside the store captured him running to a car with three other occupants. Another armed man can be seen jumping back into the vehicle when the shot rang out.

“He shot my arm off! He shot my arm off!” the wounded man continued screaming.

A third suspect is nearly left behind with the driver of the vehicle being a little too eager to get out of Dodge.

“In this case, a lawfully armed member of our community prevented a violent crime and ensured their own safety, while being confronted with multiple armed suspects,” the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office said, according to Fox News.

Unfortunately, the 80-year-old store owner suffered a heart attack shortly after the attempted robbery and is recovering at a local hospital, Fox11 LA reported.

On a positive note, the 23-year-old wounded suspect was later tracked down at a local hospital “suffering from a gunshot wound consistent with a shotgun blast,” the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office said.

He was not publicly identified, but his three pals were – they were also found at the hospital. The three suspects were identified as Justin Johnson, 22, of Inglewood, Jamar Williams, 27, of Los Angeles, and Davon Broadus, 24, of Las Vegas.

As noted in the tweet below from conservative author Nick Adams: “Shall not infringe.”
