Illegals who fled NYC after beating down cops may have gotten taxpayer-funded getaway: report

At least four of the criminal illegal alien thugs who recently beat up two New York City police officers have likely fled to California with taxpayer funds after being released without bail.

“Cops believe the group could have hopped on a bus bound for California on Wednesday after giving phony names to a church-affiliated nonprofit group that helps migrants get rides out of the city,” the New York Post reported, citing law enforcement sources.

But where did the nonprofit get the tickets/vouchers for the illegals to flee the city? From the city itself, it appears.

“[T]he city’s Office of Emergency Management has been supplying travel vouchers to migrants who approach participating nonprofit groups and ask for help leaving the overburdened city,” according to Fox News.

“Those vouchers can be used for various means of transportation, including buses,” Fox News reported Friday.

The four criminal illegal aliens were reportedly identified while at the nonprofit’s church by a woman who who later tipped off the city’s Office of Emergency Management.

All this comes after the four, in addition to several other criminal illegal aliens, assaulted two NYPD officers last Saturday.

Police later confirmed that within hours, four suspects had been arrested, each reportedly staying in one of the city’s shelters for aliens. They were identified as Darwin Andres Gomez Izquiel, 19; Kelvin Servat Arocha, 19; Juarez Wilson, 21; and Yorman Reveron, 24.

Three other suspects — Jhoan Boada, 22; Jandry Barros, 21; and Yohenry Brito, 24 — were later also arrested.

Though they were charged with Assault on a Police Officer, Gang Assault, Obstructing Governmental Administration, and Disorderly Conduct, leftist policies permitted their release without bail, despite one officer being left with bruising and the other sustaining cuts to the face.

But therein lies the dilemma now facing the police officers who’d ideally like to chase after the four who just fled to California.

“Investigators say even though the defendants allegedly used false names with the charity and could be going to Mexico by way of Calexico, California, ‘we have no legal authority to chase them or attempt to stop them’ because the Manhattan district attorney did not request bail and the defendants were released on their own recognizance,” CNN reported.

“We have to assume they intend to return to court, which, given the circumstances around their departure, seems unlikely,” the network’s unnamed source said.

As for city officials, they didn’t have much to say save for the usual generic rhetoric.

“The men and women of the NYPD put their lives on the line every single day, working tirelessly to keep us and our streets safe,” a City Hall spokesperson said. “Violence — of any kind, and no less against our officers — is unacceptable and should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”

That said, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul, a Democrat, has to her credit at least spoken out about the four criminal illegal aliens being released without bail.

“Certainly an assault on a police officer is bail eligible,” she told reporters on Friday. “There are over 100 crimes that also can lead to deportation, and so that is also something I want to have a conversation with the district attorney about.”

The district attorney, Alvin Bragg, is a radical leftist — the same one, in fact, who’s currently attempting to prosecute former President Donald Trump on over 30 counts of alleged criminal malfeasance.

The most famous of the criminal illegal aliens who participated in the assault on the NYPD officers is Boada.

Fox News notes that after he was arraigned in a Manhattan court on Wednesday, he flipped off two news photographers, sparking massive outrage across the Internet and in NYC.
