Google has become the latest woke company to virtue signal its dismay over the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, with a staff-wide email reminding them that the Big Tech giant is willing to relocate employees to abortion-friendly states “without justification.”
The email, sent by Google’s Chief People Officer Fiona Cicconi and obtained by The Verge, urges employees to “be mindful” of co-workers’ emotional states and reminds workers that the company’s US benefit plan and health insurance will cover out-of-state “procedures” for those who find themselves unable to obtain an abortion in their own state.
“This is a profound change for the country that deeply affects so many of us, especially women,” Cicconi wrote. “Everyone will respond in their own way, whether that’s wanting space and time to process, speaking up, volunteering outside of work, not wanting to discuss it at all, or something else entirely. Please be mindful of what your co-workers may be feeling and, as always, treat each other with respect.”
“Equity is extraordinarily important to us as a company,” she continued, “and we share concerns about the impact this ruling will have on people’s health, lives, and careers. We will keep working to make information on reproductive healthcare accessible across our products and continue our work to protect user privacy.”
In the meantime, “Googlers,” as Google employees are apparently known, will be compensated for out-of-state costs and they can apply to relocate to Bluer pastures.
“To support Googlers and their dependents, our US benefits plan and health insurance covers out-of-state medical procedures that are not available where an employee lives and works,” the email states. “Googlers can also apply for relocation without justification, and those overseeing this process will be aware of the situation.”
While Google spokesperson Nicolas Lopez confirmed that Ciccone’s email was only a reminder of benefits Google employees already enjoy and “there have been no changes” to the company’s relocation policy in response to the SOCTUS decision, it is the latest in a string of woke corporate responses to the reversal that sends the right to legislate abortion back to the states where it belongs.
As American Wire reported, Amazon, Bumble, Citigroup, Chobani, DoorDash, Hims & Hers, Levi Strauss, Lyft, Microsoft, Starbucks, Tesla, and Yelp, among others, began advertising abortion-expense policies the minute the opinion draft was leaked. When the opinion became official, more companies, such as Disney — which obviously learned nothing from its spanking for over-wokeness in Florida — jumped on the bandwagon.

But as corporations trip over themselves to signal their virtue, a new poll shows that the majority of Americans just want the big companies to keep their opinions to themselves.
“By 51% to 23%, Americans say major companies should not take a public position on abortion,” YouGov America tweeted on Saturday.

As for Googlers who wish to flee Red states, is seems they won’t be missed.

Let's face it, big companies have an incentive for pregnant employees to get abortions.
It's cheaper to pay for an abortion than it is to pay for maternity leave.
So yes ladies, terminate your own young so you can keep making money for Google.
