Schiff knocks McCarthy’s threat to remove him from Intel Committee

A defiant soon-to-be former chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, Adam Schiff, scoffed at likely new Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s vow to strip him of his place on the powerful committee, resorting to his trademark conspiracy-mongering during one of his customary Sunday morning appearances on CNN.

Schiff smeared his fellow Californian by dredging up the batty Q-Anon conspiracy to insinuate that McCarthy is subservient to MAGA Republicans, like Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene and Florida firebrand Rep. Matt Gaetz, as a means to flout his likely leadership of the Republican House caucus.

“McCarthy’s problem is not with what I have said about Russia. McCarthy’s problem is, he can’t get to 218 without Marjorie Taylor Greene and Paul Gosar and Matt Gaetz. And so he will do whatever they ask. And, right now, they’re asking for me to be removed from our committees. And he’s willing to do it. He’s willing to do anything they ask. And that’s the problem,” the serial liar told host Dana Bash on Sunday’s edition of “State of the Union,” which once again provided him with a forum to peddle his misinformation.

“Kevin McCarthy has no ideology. He has no core set of beliefs. It’s very hard not only to get to 218 that way — it’s even more difficult to keep 218. That’s his problem,” Schiff said. “So, he will misrepresent my record. He will misrepresent Eric Swalwell or Ilhan Omar, whatever he needs to do to get the votes of the QAnon caucus within his conference.”

“McCarthy apparently doesn’t think it’s collusion if your campaign manager is giving inside polling data and battle strategy in key states to an agent of Russian intelligence, while the Russians are helping your campaign, but most Americans would call that collusion,” Schiff added.

Schiff’s taunting comes a week after McCarthy went on Fox News to announce that he planned to boot lying Russiagate tinfoil-hatter Schiff as well as Rep. Eric Swalwell, a walking national security risk who had a romantic relationship with “Fang Fang,” a Chinese spy, and antisemitic bomb-thrower Rep. Ilhan Omar off of their committees.

“Yes, I will,” McCarthy responded to host Maria Bartiromo on whether he intended to follow through on the cleansing of the three Democrats. “I’ll keep that promise. And one thing I said from the very beginning, Eric Swalwell cannot get a security clearance in the public sector. Why would we ever give him a security clearance in the secrets to America? So I will not allow him to be on intel.”

“You have Adam Schiff who had lied to the American public time and again,” he said. “We will not allow him to be on the Intel Committee either.”

“And you look at, Congresswoman Omar,” he said of the ethically challenged, Jew-hating Minnesota ‘Squad’ member, “her anti-Semitic comments that have gone forward, we’re not going to allow her to be on Foreign Affairs.”

Also on CNN, Schiff rushed to the defense of malicious actor and January 6 RINO Liz Cheney after a dynamite report that committee staffers were furious at Dick Cheney’s daughter for using the committee as a “revenge mission” against former President Donald J. Trump, putting her own political ambitions over important work that was painstakingly done by professionals wh went to The Washington Post to air their grievances with the outgoing Wyoming congresswoman who had her clock cleaned in the state’s primary.

“Is it true?” Bash asked.

“No,” Schiff said in defense of Cheney “I mean at least I certainly hope not.”

“I would like to see our report be as broad and inclusive as possible,” he added, dismissing the account of the staffers who came forward.“We are discussing as a committee among the members, what belongs in the body of the report, what belongs in the appendices of the report, what is beyond the scope of our investigation, and we’ll reach those decisions in a collaborative manner.”

As of Sunday evening, McCarthy had not responded to Schiff’s insolence.
