School board member says district should refuse to hire teachers with Christian values: ‘Not…safe’

The dominance of left-wing ideologues who have wormed their way into positions of influence within the nation’s educational system has opened up another front against Christians who face persecution and discrimination for their religious beliefs, with an Arizona school board being a perfect example.

During a recent meeting, Tamillia Valenzuela who is a member of the school board for the Washington Elementary School District in the Phoenix-Glendale area said that she would oppose a contract with a Christian university over its religious beliefs, according to Fox News Digital.

On February 23, the board agreed on a motion to dissolve its partnership with Arizona Christian University which it had for five years during which the ongoing contract enabled its “student teachers to be placed in its schools for field experience. The contract opened up opportunities for recruitment and hiring.”

At the meeting, Valenzuela who showed up wearing cat ears and who describes herself as “a bilingual, disabled, neurodivergent Queer Black Latina… who loves a good hot wing (but only with the right ranch) and things that sparkle,” assailed the university for its Christian beliefs and said that she was “disheartened” to learn that the contract had been ongoing for five years.

“While I full-heartedly believe in the religious freedom and people being able to practice whatever faith that they have, I had some concerns regarding looking at this particular institution,” Valenzuela said. “And I think it’s a really good time for us to take a moment and really pause about where our values lie.”

“And while I understand we are currently in a situation across the nation that we have a teacher shortage and recruiting… is really difficult,” she said, according to Fox News Digital.

“My concerns, [is] when I go to Arizona Christian University’s website, [ they are] ‘committed to Jesus Christ, accomplishing his will and advancements on earth as in Heaven,’” she added.

According to the school’s website, “Arizona Christian University is an award-winning, culturally and theologically conservative university where students and their professors are serious about deepening their Christian faith and where relationships and community matter most. If you seek a university that is courageously Christian, then Arizona Christian University is the place for you.”

“Part of their values is… [to] ‘transform the culture with truth by promoting the Biblically-informed values that are foundational to Western civilization, including the centrality of family, traditional sexual morality, and lifelong marriage between one man and one woman,'” Valenzuela said.

“I want to know how bringing [teachers] from an institution that is ingrained in their values so directly brings impact to three of your board members who are a part of the LGBT community,” she added.

“Because if we’re bringing people in whose mission [has]… been with their institution’s education that very plainly on their website… that above all else, it was to influence people to Biblically-minded. How does that hold space for people of other faiths?” Valenzuela continued. “How does that hold space for our members of the LGBT community? How does that space for people who think differently and do not have the same beliefs.”

“At some point, we need get real with ourselves and take a look at who we’re making legal contracts with and the message that is sending to our community. Because that makes me feel like I could not be safe in this school district,” she said.

The board “did not immediately respond to a request for comment on whether they have a bias against Christian beliefs,” Fox News Digital reported.

The contempt for God and Christianity, in particular, are evident with the gospel of transgenderism having the upper hand over the Holy scriptures in environments where “woke” zealots are using their positions to indoctrinate impressionable young minds.

Recently, an Anchorage, Alaska public school district librarian invoked the Holy Bible in defense of making a smutty book with graphic descriptions of homosexual sex and how to hook up online available in the district’s libraries.

According to emails with the school’s principal obtained by a concerned father through a public records request, the librarian said of “This Book is Gay,” the controversial subject of much debate:

“I am reading it now – it is graphic and blunt in a cartoony, keep it light way – but there is a tremendous amount of good information… The reading level is 14+ and the author constantly discussing safety, safety, safety. On another note-I have the Bible on the shelf, 12 verses refer to Sodomy and sexual behavior, selling your daughter into slavery…. This is such a slippery slope. Let me know what else you need.”

“The principal then used the information provided in the email by the librarian to respond to a concerned parent,” according to Fox News Digital.

Committed leftists aren’t content to just get God out of classrooms with their war on school prayer, they really want to cancel Christians entirely and replace religious teachings with their own perverted dogma.
