An armed gunman reportedly attempted to break into the FBI’s Cincinnati, Ohio field office on Thursday morning, eventually exchanging gunfire with law enforcement and speeding away from the scene.
Local news outlet WLWT-5 received confirmation from agents at the field office that a man, who appeared to be armed, showed up at the building and allegedly began making threats. Then, the person drove off causing the Ohio State Highway Patrol to give chase and shut down Northbound Interstate 71. Reports indicate that the officers exchanged fire with the alleged gunman, who is being described as “a male suspect who is wearing a gray shirt and body armor.”
The events have also caused a lockdown for “all buildings within a one mile radius of Smith Road and Center Road, according to Clinton County EMA. Residents and businesses are asked to lock their doors,” as police continue to search for the suspect.

According to News Journal, information about the suspect was traded over police scanners. “‘Blood splatter on his shorts. Right thigh area.’ ‘Part of windshield shot out.’ ‘Suspect on knees, holding rifle,'” reportedly came from a helicopter in the area.
The incident is still ongoing at the time of publication.
This comes after former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate was raided by the FBI, who were allegedly looking for classified documents.
