Surprise! They all have rap sheets: NYPD IDs 4 ‘Green Goblin’ gang suspects in NYC subway attack

Four female suspects accused of being part of the group of nine “green goblins” that attacked two teenagers on a Manhattan subway train on Sunday morning have been identified by the New York City Police Department, and — shock of all shocks — all of them have rap sheets.

NYPD Chief of Detectives James Essig made the announcement on Friday.

“NYPD detectives from the Transit Robbery Squad were able to ID four of these persons, all four of which reside in the Queensbridge housing development in Queens,” Chief Essig said, according to Fox News. “Members of the warrant division are actively seeking their whereabouts.”

The suspects were identified as 26-year-olds Ciante Alston, Mairam Cisse Issouf, and Dariana Peguero, and 34-year-old Emily Soto.

According to Essig, Soto has two prior arrests, Issouf has one, Alston has been arrested three times, and Peguero has been arrested nine times.

As American Wire previously reported, two teens, one celebrating her 19th birthday, were bumped by the band of what the New York Post has called “Green Goblins” while they stood on the platform. The altercation then moved into the subway car, where onlookers simply watched as the teens were roughed up and robbed.

According to the furious mother of one of the teens, her daughter “said she was attacked by aliens, and I didn’t know what she was talking about.”

“My daughter’s words were, they bum-rushed them,” she told the New York Post. “I asked, ‘Why? Did you say something?’ She said, ‘I wish I did, because then there would be a reason for what happened to me.'”

The mom called the teens’ attackers “complete animals.”

Crime in the Big Apple has been spiraling out of control for some time now, thanks in large part to the revolving door created for criminals by the state’s progressive bail reform policies.

In August, American Wire reported on the case of Alexander Wright, who was arrested for the 41st time after allegedly beating a Bronx subway cleaner, Anthony Nelson, for trying to stop Wright from harassing straphangers. For his heroic efforts, Nelson suffered a broken collarbone and a dislocated nose.

“The horrific assault was just the latest in a long list of crimes attributed to Wright — from a random slugfest targeting an Asian woman in Chinatown to throwing hot coffee on two traffic agents in Midtown last year,” the New York Post reported at the time.

Despite his many arrests, Wright was held on only a $5,000 bail.

And in May, onlookers again did nothing but hit record on their smartphones as a terrified woman begged for help while a man in a hoodie yanked her by the hair and pulled her down next to him on the subway.

The mom whose daughter was attacked by the Green Goblins blames Gov. Kathy Hochul and officials like her for “making these ridiculous laws and letting savages walk the streets with nothing but a slap on the wrist.”

“Animals belong behind bars,” she stated. “Make an example of them… What happened to the New York City we all loved?”
