‘We need these lawmakers to be victims’: NYPD Sgt’s stinging words trigger ‘defund police’ Cori Bush

The radical left Democrats in the House of Representatives known as “the squad” are in their element when they can play the victim, which boosts their efforts to perpetuate a victim class in America that’s dependent on them for salvation.

U.S. Rep. Cori Bush, D-Mo., one of the newer members, excels here better than most and the trained faith healer exhibited this talent Thursday in response to a Fox News segment that followed a report that a vehicle belonging to her was hit by gunfire early Saturday morning in the St. Louis area. The vehicle was parked at the time and no one was in it, so no one was injured and it does not appear that Bush was targeted.

Bush, a former Black Lives Matter activist who spends tens of thousands of dollars for private security, has been a vocal “Defund the Police” advocate, and that hypocrisy did not escape Fox News host Griff Jenkins, who had New York Police Department Sgt. Joseph Imperatrice on to respond to the story. And while his choice of words were imperfect, Imperatrice suggested that the lawmakers who are creating a more violent society with their soft-on-crime criminal justice reforms need to understand the real-world implication of their left-wing social engineering.

Nonetheless, Bush pounced on the opportunity to play the victim and in a two-fer, bash Fox News, which is a favorite pastime of Democrats who stand against any voice that runs counter to their political agenda.

“‘The harsh truth is we need these lawmakers to be victims,'” Bush tweeted, quoting the NYPD sergeant. “‘I’m not praying that any of these people get hurt or harmed, BUT..’ But??? Fox News is literally out here advocating for me to face violence. I’m just gonna keep working to get justice. Y’all stay mad and be blessed.”

The self-righteous indignation seeping from her response — never mind that Jenkins was quick to tamp down the rhetoric used by his guest.

“Of course, we would never wish any harm whatsoever on any American, let alone a politician we disagreed with, but the instances we did see — two instances of carjacking, fortunately, everyone was ok — maybe it will change their minds. Who knows?” he said.

Imperatrice did explain what his intention was, adding, “We need them to understand when the worst situation possible hits them, and then they can turn around and say, ‘Wow, maybe it’s an issue. Maybe I need to wake up and do my job and change things for the better.’”

“I’m not praying any of these people get hurt or harmed, but they need to see firsthand how bad the streets really are,” he said.

Somewhat ironically, after the shooting, Bush tweeted: “I’m touched by everyone who has reached out. Thankfully no one was harmed. But any act of gun violence shakes your soul. That’s why our movement is working to invest in our communities, eradicate the root causes of gun violence, and keep everyone safe.”

Ah, the old “root causes” approach — how’s that working out on the overrun southern border?

There appears to be a serious disconnect in America, where voters elect progressive Democrats who pursue criminal justice reforms claiming systemic racism is rampant throughout the system. These reforms include reduced cash bail, or in many cases the elimination of cash bail, which results in a revolving door for criminals being jailed. As crime surges in one Democrat-run city after another, prosecutors — many being backed by billionaire Democratic philanthropist George Soros — look to reduce charges for those arrested, if not drop the charges altogether.

Yet, the real victims here, the residents of these cities who deal with the consequences of these policies, continue to vote for these Democratic officials driving the rising crime.
