A new poll may spell trouble for Kamala Harris’ presumed aspirations to win the presidential seat.

New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez took first place in a new poll of potential 2028 (mostly) Democratic presidential nominees.

But it gets worse for Harris.

While AOC sat at the top with 22%, former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg came in a close second with 21%, according to the poll taken by the University of New Hampshire on Wednesday.

Harris hardly showed up with only 5% support while being bested by potential contenders, California Gov. Gavin Newsom, Independent Sen. Bernie Sanders and Arizona Sen Mark Kelly.

The poll comes as Harris has been busy with what many are calling a “comeback tour” with the expectation that she’s eyeing a second shot at the Oval Office after losing bigly to President Donald Trump in 2024.

Although Harris has fared better in other recent polls, the New Hampshire results could indicate a bad sign for enthusiasm for the former VP.

Meanwhile, AOC appeared over-the-moon when asked about the poll:

“One is that you know polls are polls, and a horse race is a horse race. I am, of course, I think very deeply humbled and grateful to you know folks who participate and convey that confidence,” she told reporters.

“I think my main focus is really genuinely just the midterms right now, and we have to make sure that we win this majority.”
