AOC slammed for ‘incredible’ ignorance over government shutdown fight

AOC’s attempt to blame a potential government shutdown on Republicans hasn’t gotten off to a great start.

Alexandria Ocasio Cortez responded to Republican Speaker Mike Johnson putting Democrat Chuck Schumer in the hot seat after the House passed a bill that would freeze spending, but keep the government running.

“Chuck Schumer needs to decide: will Senate Democrats keep the government funded or will they join House Democrats and shut it down?” Johnson asked on X, and posted a clip of an interview on “Fox & Friends.”

AOC clapped back on X arguing Republicans hold the cards with control of all three federal branches. “Republicans run the House, the Senate, and the White House. You run the government. If you have the votes, then go ahead,” AOC stated. “If you need Democrats, then you need to negotiate with Democrats. Those are your two options. Blaming someone else because your shoes are untied isn’t one.”

The ‘Squad’ member was immediately called out for her seemingly deceitful statement. Fox News contributor Joe Concha was among them.

White House Deputy Chief of Staff called AOC’s post “incredible” for sheer ignorance.

Exploiting ignorance is a hell of a way to govern.
