An Idaho court released text messages from the surviving roommates connected to the horrific murders of four college students in November 2022.
The murder case swept the nation and took the lives of Madison Mogen, 21, Kaylee Goncalves, 21, Xana Kernodle, 20, and Ethan Chapin, 20.
The surviving roommates identified in court documents as DM and BF appear to have been discussing the possibility of a masked intruder minutes after the attack, FOX News reported.
DM is believed to be the only eyewitness to the masked killer who reportedly had “bushy eyebrows.”
The murders took place in a house on King Road in Moscow, Idaho, shortly before 4:17 am on Nov. 13, 2022.
Below is part of the transcript obtained by FOX. It appears to show the roommates in a state of panic as they try to contact the victims with no response.
Urgent texts to the victims continued the following morning at 10:23 am:
The court also released the transcript from the 911 call made at 12:00 pm by one of the roommates. Below is a portion of the harrowing call, the full transcript can be viewed at FOX News.
Bryan Kohberger, a 30-yr-old former Ph.D. student, is awaiting trial for the murders as defense attorneys seek to strike the death penalty.
“Striking the death penalty is the only remedy that begins to adequately address the prejudice to Mr. Kohberger,” defense attorney Anne Taylor wrote. “Even with a ‘hot documents’ list and detailed expert disclosures— the minimum necessary for this case to proceed to trial—counsel is at a massive disadvantage given the limited resources as compared to the State and the fact that only five months remain before trial.”
Prosecutors plan to bring Kohberger’s banking and shopping records along with surveillance video as evidence. The prosecution will also use National Weather Service reports to challenge Kohberger’s alibi about driving to look at the moon and stars during the time of the crime, FOX reported.
