Hollywood actor dies after stabbing, alleged killer leaves haunting call to 911

A Hollywood actor was found dead, allegedly at the hands of his girlfriend’s son.

Los Angeles police found James Handy, 81, best known for roles in movies “Top Gun”, “Jumanji” and “Maverick”, unconscious in his front yard with a stab wound to the chest, Wednesday morning.

The alleged killer, Michael Gledhill, 44, reportedly flagged officers down when they arrived and confessed to the crime.

Just after the alleged murder, Gledhill left a bizarre message to 911 stating: “I am the son of man, I just killed the man of sin.”

Gledhill lived with his mother, Handy’s girlfriend, at the actor’s LA residence and was booked on a murder charge with bail set at $2 million.

Handy, who had an extensive career in film and TV, was pronounced dead at the hospital.

It didn’t take long for the strange and tragic case to make national headlines, where it received plenty of reaction:
