Frightening scenes are emerging from France as violent riots erupt across the country.

The apocalyptic images stem from high school student-led protests that began at the end of September. Students reportedly started blocking schools in the Paris region over teacher shortages, rundown buildings, overcrowded classes, and other grievances.

University protests followed in cities around France and reportedly coincide with “broader tension over PM Sebastien Lecornu’s draft budget, which includes large spending cuts,” according to Grok.

By Friday, Oct 2, French officials reported that roughly 400 of 3,700 high schools were closed, with hundreds more disrupted.

France’s Education Minister said at least 65 staff members, including about 40 principals, and roughly 170 students have been injured since the riots began.

Roughly 2,000 to 3,000 arrests have been made, with about 90 percent of them being minors.

Making the situation all the more volatile, the movement was “hijacked” by violent “fringe” groups, and hundreds of police and firefighters have been injured.

Far-left politicians have been accused of inciting the movement, and a leaked Paris police memo “also pointed to far-left student and political involvement,” according to Grok.

The videos circulating are truly disturbing, but if it weren’t for X, hardly anyone outside France would know.
