The House Freedom Caucus is ramping up pressure on Republican senators as the fleeting time to move on the SAVE Act becomes critical.
The majority of Americans — on both sides of the political aisle — support common-sense law that would require proof of citizenship to vote in federal elections. The SAVE Act, aka the SAVE AMERICA Act, has passed the House but has inexplicably stalled in the U.S. Senate.
To say that Republican voters are furious with Senate leaders would be an understatement, and now the Freedom Caucus has turned up the heat with a new ad slamming the GOP Senate’s inaction.
“You’re going to hear that it needs 60 votes to pass there, THAT’S NOT TRUE!” the ad starts.
“Senate rules allow bringing the Save America Act to the floor at ANY TIME.”
“If 51 Republicans show, Democrats would have to filibuster standing and talking hour after hour to block it.”
“As long as Republicans SHOW A BACKBONE—instead of giving in to them.”
🔥🚨 HOLY CRAP! The House Freedom Caucus is now running a TV ad ripping the Senate GOP’s inaction on passing the Save America Act.

The ad garnered plenty of support on X, with much of the anger and frustration aimed at Senate leader John Thune:
Amazing that conservatives are having to buy advertising to push republicans in the senate to even vote on an issue ~85% of Americans approval. This should pass 100-0 in the senate… 🤷♂️

Keep putting the pressure on them.. instead of calling and begging thune and others we should start going directly to their districts and make sure all their voters know what they’re doing. Make sure they vote them out..

Everybody, on both sides, needs to realize that this message is true, and that our Congress does not, and has not worked for the American people.
Why work to get things done, when you can slow walk everything into a very lucrative retirement after decades of “civil service”?— M. Gardner (@MWGardner80) February 27, 2026
Just days ago, President Trump urged Thune to move on the SAVE Act during the State of the Union:
🚨 PRESIDENT TRUMP JUST CALLED OUT Senate Leader John Thune LIVE at the SOTU:
“PASS the SAVE America Act! We HAVE to stop it, John!”
“The only way they can get elected is they CHEAT.”

But the stalling continues, and it has plenty of people asking… WHY?
Good question https://t.co/lm5LQrBK9g

Meanwhile, there’s a Plan B in works with mounting pressure on President Trump to use his executive authority and declare a national emergency to ensure voter integrity.
