Terrifying video sweeping the Internet shows a U.S. Naval employee who was snorkeling with a co-worker being mauled by a shark.

The man can be heard screaming for his life as the predator repeatedly goes after him in the waters near the Naval Base in Panama City, Florida.

Beachgoers reportedly intervened and saved the victim, who suffered severe injuries to both arms. There are mixed reports on whether the victim will lose any extremities.

The attack comes as a bill to create an amber alert for shark attacks awaits President Trump’s signature. Plenty of X users responded to the video with advice and their own experiences:

Sharks fed and hangout around docks and boats, which I learned in Basic scuba diving. Never swim or allow your pets to swim in these areas.

Many sharks use an exploratory test bite and let go as humans are not a natural part of their menu. However, even an exploratory bite can be dangerous.

Bull sharks on the other hand tend to be more aggressive opportunistic feeders. Very sad 😢
