Vice President Kamala Harris served up yet another word salad on Monday that left people shaking their heads over the realization that she is one 79-year-old heartbeat away from being President of the United States.
In a follow up to last week’s flub, where the vice president said the United States supports Ukraine “in defense of the NATO alliance,” even though the Eastern European country is not a member of the alliance, Harris was speaking in Sunset, La., and began waxing poetically about the “significance of the passage of time” while talking about affordable and accessible high-speed internet.
“The governor and I, and we were all doing a tour of the library here, and talking about the significance of the passage of time,” she said. “Right? The significance of the passage of time.”
“So when you think about it, there is great significance to the passage of time in terms of what we need to do to lay these wires — what we need to do to create these jobs. And there’s such great significance to the passage of time when we think about a day in the life of our children.”
Fox News senior political analyst Brit Hume summed the matter up better than most in responding to the incident.
“This person is the vice president of the United States, chosen because she checked certain political boxes, and chosen by a man himself chosen because party leaders were afraid Bernie Sanders would run away with the party’s nomination,” he tweeted.

Former Speaker Newt Gingrich said during an appearance on Fox News that Harris is one “strong reason” to pray for President Biden’s health.
“You are reminded again today that that reason is the vice president. She’s not only totally incoherent — You know, he may or may not have cognitive decline problems at his age, but at her age, she’s just dumb,” Gingrich said.
“If you were her national security adviser, and you were competent, and you’d worked hard, and you knew what you were doing, and you watched her in Poland break-up laughing when she’s asked about Ukrainian refugees, you had to feel a sense of total humiliation,” he said. “So I’m not surprised that that particular adviser resigned because it’s very clear that Kamala Harris should never, ever be allowed to leave the country.”
Social media users decided it was time to do what they have been doing — which is ridiculing a rather dull Harris — and that time was Monday, to borrow from the vice president.
Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story from Twitter:
Kamala Harris is dumber than the media pretended Dan Quayle was.

I can’t watch the Kamala Harris videos anymore.
It’s so cringe, I die inside a little for her. Psychic pain.
She’s the perfect representative of America right now: Cringe Nation.

I am constantly reminded of Churchill when I hear her speak. It is uncanny. https://t.co/pxQih0XmtE
