President Joe Biden reinforced a concern many have about whether he is disconnected from reality when the 80-year-old president began joking about ice cream before commenting on a mass shooting event at a Nashville charter school that left six people dead, including three children — the transgender shooter was killed by police in what may have been an anti-Christian hate crime motivated by radical left gender ideology.
The president was in a jovial mood as he delivered remarks at the SBA Women’s Business Summit in the East Room of the White House shortly after news broke of the shooting.
“My name is Joe Biden. I’m Dr. Jill Biden’s husband. And I eat Jeni’s Ice Cream, chocolate chip,” Biden opened. “I came down because I heard there was chocolate chip ice cream. By the way, I have a whole refrigerator full upstairs. You think I’m kidding, I’m not.”

Biden went on to comment about some children in the room and asked them to stand for recognition before talking about having brothers and sisters himself, and how his sister was “smarter than all of us.”
“She used to be three years younger than me; now she’s 23 years younger than me,” he joked, before a back and forth about the age of the children.
After all the jocularity, Biden then turned his attention to the Nashville school shooting — using the occasion to push for gun control while incorrectly stating that the trans shooter was armed with AK-47s.
“We’re monitoring the situation really closely,” the president said. “And we have to do more to stop gun violence. It’s ripping our communities apart, ripping the soul of this nation — ripping at the very soul of the nation. And we have to do more to protect our schools so they aren’t turned into prisons.”
“You know, the shooter in this situation reportedly had two assault weapons and a pistol — two AK-47. So I call on Congress, again, to pass my assault weapons ban. It’s about time that we begin to make some more progress,” Biden said, before returning to shoutouts from the lectern.

Biden’s demeanor was all the talk online as social media users marveled over just how disconnected the cognitively-challenged leader of the free world seems to be… here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story from Twitter:
he literally pivoted from telling jokes to addressing the school shooting and then pivoted back to telling jokes. all happened within the span of 180 seconds

Reminds me of that time Obama gave someone a shout out before addressing another tragedy that had happened that day.

And he’s suppose to be leader of the free world? America is in a mess.

I can’t even with this crap! I’m disgusted with this guy! Families are just being told their little one was killed in a school shooting and he’s talking about ice cream!
