Actor Kevin Sorbo throws Newsmax anchor for a loop with unapologetic election claim

Newsmax fill-in anchor Lidia Curanaj got a little snippy with conservative actor Kevin Sorbo over his belief that “fraud” impacted recent elections.

Setting up to ask him his reaction to former President Donald Trump’s campaign announcement, Curanaj played a clip of “The View” in which the co-hosts took turns disparaging Trump. Joy Behar referred to him as “kind of a defeated Mussolini sort of guy” while Sunny Hostin called him a “grifter” looking to “make money off the presidency.”

At the end of the video, Curanaj asked Sorbo for his thoughts on the situation, and boy did she get them.

“I was there last night. I was at Mar-a-Lago, I was fourth-row center and I tell you what: That was the most presidential speech he’s given. I mean, seriously. I thought that this was awesome. I’m not surprised he’s coming back. I am a voter denial. There was definitely fraud in this election, as there was two years ago. So –,” Sorbo explained before he was cut off.

“Well, we don’t have any proof of that,” Curanaj cut in. “And we’re going to look forward. We’re going to look forward and focus on the policies and the positivity of America.”

Originally she had also made time for Sorbo’s son, who was involved in the segment, to voice his opinions. However, it would appear that her interjection took up that time and she had to wrap it up without getting his thoughts.

The desire to tamp down the course of the conversation may have stemmed from the fact that Newsmax was sued for $1.6 billion for airing claims about voting machines that Dominion Voting Systems deemed “disinformation” following the 2020 presidential election.

Newsmax released an apology and clarification regarding their stance on Dominion.

“Newsmax would like to clarify its news coverage and note it has not reported as true certain claims made about these companies,” Newsmax’s John Tabacco cautioned during a segment.
