Voice actress Tara Strong, known for her roles in shows such as “The Powerpuff Girls,” “Family Guy,” and “My Little Pony,” is trying her hand at politics, but it’s likely not going the way she expected it would.
On Monday, she tweeted that President Joe Biden should host a gun buyback, and send the “assault rifles” to Ukraine so they can protect their women and children. Apparently, she’s only worried about people not being able to defend themselves from violence if they’re Ukrainian.
Dear @POTUS America is hurting. Why not TRY a buyback program for all the #AR15s & all assault rifles & send them to #Ukraine? Their women & CHILDREN are being raped & slaughtered every day while the world watches in horror. Elderly & innocent displaced & murdered EVERY DAY

Twitter was quick to react to the suggestion, and some users even make some suggestions of their own:
Why not protect them the way POTUS wants to protect our own children: ban all defensive weapons and declare it a “gun-free zone”

Imagine thinking the “good guy with a gun” argument is trash and the immediately trying to implement it in the same sentence 😂😂😂

No military on earth would want the civilian AR15 in combat. AR means Armalite Rifle not assault rifle. In terms actual assault rifles in private hands for those who have class 3 tax stamp … a full M-16 market value is. $ 15,000 this idea is simply dumb

How is the government going to buy something back they never owned …… and use tax payer dollars to do it .
— Will Champagne (@WillChampagne6) May 30, 2022
Uh, you realize that’s why we wouldn’t sell them to the government, right?
Please tell me you know you just defeated your own point?

Just stick to voice acting. Holy shit. 🤦♂️

Of course, when the Ukrainians are done with the rifles we’ll need to take them back (to protect the Ukrainians from themselves) and redistribute them to another war zone pic.twitter.com/qLcvTrn5FA

So your argument is simultaneously that nobody needs an AR15 and also that Ukraine needs all the AR15s?

I’d give mine up if I didn’t need them.
But since you want to take them, I need them.
You guys still don’t get it. pic.twitter.com/wfyGLhpDIl
