U.S. Rep. Adam Schiff quickly went into damage control after he was taken to the woodshed by the only Republican vying for the Senate seat he is chasing.
The California Democrat joined others in his party looking to fill the Senate seat left open by the death of Sen. Dianne Feinstein last year. In a debate on Monday, Schiff battled with fellow Democrat Reps. Barbara Lee and Katie Porter and they all sunk their claws into the only Republican in the match, baseball legend Steve Garvey.
There was the predictable rhetoric as the Democrat contenders contorted themselves to connect Harvey with Donald Trump while blaming the former president for all the ills foisted upon Americans by Democrat President Joe Biden.
But in one epic moment, Garvey lowered the boom on Schiff whose face told the full story.
“I think you’ve been censured for lying,” the 75-year-old former Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres player confronted Schiff on his Russia collusion mantra against Trump.
Adam Schiff gets called out during the CA Senate debate by Republican Steve Garvey for lying about Russian collusion:
Garvey: “I believe you were censured for lying.”
Schiff: “I was censured for standing up to a corrupt president”
Garvey: “Sir, you lied to 300 million people… pic.twitter.com/tqv4YD2kZZ

Schiff visibly lost it, interrupting Garvey and sputtering about how he was “censured for standing up to a corrupt president.”
“Politicians who are trying to determine who we are by race, by color, or by gender – they never listen,” Garvey continued as Schiff gave him the look of death.
When he got the chance, the Democrat insisted he respond since he had been “called a liar.”
But when he proceeded to spin the facts again, tooting his own horn, Garvey shot him down, saying, “Sir, you lied to 300 million people. You can’t take that back.”
There was no comeback from the bug-eyed Democrat.
I’m glad the moderators called out Adam Schiff’s lie to 300 million Americans. #senateshowdown pic.twitter.com/InmO69a6cA

And in a very telling post soon after the debate, Schiff took to social media to drive his point home.
Lots of Republicans like @SteveyGarvey6 falsely claim there is “no evidence of collusion” by Donald Trump.

Schiff’s hot air may have gotten him the head-nodding approval of his leftist fans but Garvey’s scorching takedown was celebrated by many on X.
Another home run for Steve Garvey.

“Sir you lied, REPEATEDLY, to 300 million people. You can’t take that back.”
Would be more accurate…

All you have to do is bring up the subject. He can’t help himself, he lives the lie.

When Garvey said you’ve lied to 300 million people Schiff had a moment… pic.twitter.com/6xx39sg8lB

Schiff, in his answer, just revealed, he lied, and his conscience is clear for lying; because he viewed such as standing up to Trump.
We’ve always known, they’d do whatever they had to do… and he just in so many words, admitted it.
Way to go Garvey. As a Braves fan I didn’t…
