After being obliterated by US, delusional Iran claims victory, celebrates with LEGO-styled cartoon

After getting completely obliterated by the United States and Israel, Iran has hilariously declared victory.

Iran’s Supreme National Security Council affirmed on Tuesday that it had achieved “a victory that made the enemy regret, accept defeat, and halt its aggression unilaterally,” according to Watan, an Arab-American newspaper published by Watan News.

The Council added that Iran had “achieved strategic superiority” during  its 12-day war with Israel (and tangentially the U.S.), and that “Israel was forced to accept defeat and agree to a unilateral ceasefire.”

Meanwhile, an Iranian TV station reportedly backed by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps aired a LEGO-styled cartoon celebrating this supposed victory against Israel and the U.S.

“The bizarre video … opens with the devil barking orders at President Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to attack Iran’s nuclear facilities,” according to the New York Post.

“The video [then] shows the destruction at the Isfahan military base, one of the sites that was eventually hit during Saturday’s airstrike by American B-2 stealth bombers,” the reporting continues.

The strange video ends with Iran retaliating against Israel, decimating the country, and scaring Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

FYI, what actually happened was that Israel and Iran traded fire for a few days, up until the Trump administration bombed the living hell out of Iran’s nuclear facilities, including the Fordow facility.

Iran then performed a theatrical show of force against a U.S. base in Qatar to save face before agreeing to a ceasefire and then hilariously claiming it’d somehow won the 12-day conflict.

How can this be — how can anyone be this delusional? According to Ali Vaez of the International Crisis Group, it’s because every side has a potential narrative for victory.

“The United States can say it has set back Iran’s nuclear program,” he told the New York Times. “Israel can say it has weakened Iran, a regional adversary, and Iran can say it has survived and pushed back against much stronger military powers.”

Fair enough, though FYI, the real winners still remain the United States and Israel, according to most critics.

After all, the United States suffered zero casualties during the 12-day war, while Israel suffered a few dozen and Iran suffered a few hundred.

The biggest winner of all, of course, was Israel.

“In the week preceding the US’ precision airstrikes [on Iran’s nuclear facilities], Israel managed to establish its air superiority against Iran by striking nuclear and military targets and neutralising Tehran’s air defences,” according to NDTV.

“Israel forces also assassinated key figures in Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, including Brigadier General Ali Shadmani. Its airstrikes took out Tehran’s intelligence hawks, Brigadier General Mohammad Kazemi and Brigadier General Hassan Mohaqeqi. The massive damage caused by the airstrikes also helped Israel in the perception battle, boosting its image as a dogged fighting force,” the reporting continued.
