AG Bondi details latest arrests in DC: ‘We’re taking back our Nation’s Capital!’

Attorney General Pam Bondi revealed the progress being made in fighting Washington, D.C.’s crime problem.

President Donald Trump is nothing if not ruthlessly efficient when it comes to enacting his agenda, and that was made evident on the streets of the nation’s capital. On Monday, Trump announced the mobilization of the National Guard to help protect the residents of Washington, D.C., and on Friday, Bondi revealed that nearly 200 arrests had already been made.

She wrote in an X post: “189 arrests in D.C. — and counting: 2 homicide suspects, 17 drug traffickers, 39 illegal gun offender,s 2 sexual predators, 75 ICE arrests. This is what happens when you actually enforce the law. We’re taking back our Nation’s Capital! Together, we will make D.C. Beautiful & Safe Again.”

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has also been assisting in the federal takeover of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department. They have been helping to staff city checkpoints and back up street patrols since the Monday announcement.

Alongside the National Guard and ICE, members of the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), the FBI, and the United States Capitol Police have been spotted in the city.
