Air Force on woke hiring kick, offering big bucks for diversity, equity and inclusion positions

Having nailed the “go woke” side of the equation, the U.S. Air Force appeared to be striving toward the “go broke” half as they announced new diversity gigs with salaries in the six-figure range to help implement their “strategic vision.”

That vision appeared to be diversity for diversity’s sake as the service branch posted no less than four jobs for senior officials for their Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) office. Found on the civil service jobs board USAjobs.gov, the pay range for open positions started at $82,000 and went as high as $183,500 per year to be a “first-level supervisor.”

The position of supervisory diversity equity inclusion and accessibility officer for the Air Force headquarters in Arlington, Virginia included responsibilities like planning and directing activities that ensure “education and training” as well as “strategic outreach” to meet “legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs.”

The role that also required the “collection of internal and external statistical information” to really hone the DEI narrative paid on a scale of $155,700 to $183,500 per year.

Another open position was for a diversity and inclusion manager at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Alaska making $93,367 to $121,378 per year to perform a “range of functions to facilitate and support the achievement of the Installation/Wing Diversity and Inclusion mission,” i.e. to “enhance a culture of diversity and inclusion within the [Air Force].”

Maryland’s Andrews Air Force Base also needed a manager on a similar pay scale who would serve as Joint Base Installation Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer while Maxwell Air Force Base in Alabama sought a “diversity and inclusion coordinator” who would make anywhere from $82,830 to $107,680 to advise the base on DEI issues.

Fox News Digital sought comment from the Air Force on how many positions such as these they would look to fill this year, but the military declined to respond. However, their website does contend, “The challenges we face today are far too serious, and the implications of failure far too great, for our Air Force to do less than fully and inclusively leverage our nation’s greatest strength–our remarkably diverse people.”

“As airpower advocates, we must be culturally competent and operationally relevant to effectively accomplish our various missions,” the statement added.

That argument has been regularly shot down by active duty service members, including some who had spoken out anonymously in October and reported, “I prefer a military that was more concerned with the standards of the unity, rather than equity,” calling those aims “disruptive towards the real training the military should focus on.”

They weren’t alone in using taxpayer dollars to advance the leftist agenda as the Commerce Department also sought a supervisory director of diversity and inclusion for their National Institute of Standards and Technology. The position’s salary started at $155,000.

Elsewhere, the Department of Health and Human Services, the Department of Agriculture, the U.S. Mint’s Office of Equity and Inclusion, and the White House Office of Management and Budget all posted available opportunities for an array of DEI positions that each offered a six-figure salary.
