Things got violent at Mexico City International Airport on Tuesday when an airline refused to refund a woman’s ticket over a missing reservation resulting in the enraged flyer throwing monitors and scanners, and destroying a ticket counter in the process.
María Guadalupe, 56, had an epic meltdown after she found out that her flight reservation that was made through a travel agency was nowhere to be found in the Volaris system.
The trashing of the ticket counter was caught on cellphone footage showing Guadalupe spryly jumping on top of the counter’s baggage scale while slamming a computer screen to the floor after she was instructed to contact the agency to get her money back.
During the destruction of the area, the woman continued to argue with the employees. At one point, she threw a barcode scanner to the ground while shocked passengers just stood there with their mouths open watching the impressive display of anger play out.

“If you don’t want to, don’t give me the money back. I don’t give a f***. But that’s going to cost you,” she raged at one of the stunned agents. “Don’t give it to me. But you pay for that, and if you don’t want to, it’s very nice.”
Guadalupe proceeded to a second ticket counter and grabbed a monitor and keyboard, which she slammed to the floor violently.
Someone patiently stood by the counter, waiting for the woman to finish destroying equipment. When she was done with her tantrum, they escorted her away. That’s likely not how that scene would have played out in an American airport.
Auxiliary Police agents intercepted the incensed woman as she was about to leave the airport and placed her under arrest, hauling her off according to the Daily Mail.
Wow, Maria Guadalupe really knows how to handle her disappointments. Instead of calmly accepting the denial of her refund, she decides to go all Hulk on the airport equipment. I guess the phrase “take a deep breath and count to ten” wasn’t in her vocabulary.…

An incident report was filed that charged she “caused damage to an airline counter at the AICM (Mexico City International Airport).” That seemed a little anticlimactic and a bit of an understatement concerning the rampage.
Online news portal Infobae reported that the furious woman destroyed four computers and four scanners.
The low-cost airline predictably pressed charges against Guadalupe, accusing her of damaging equipment as well as disturbing the peace, the Daily Mail reported.

Outbursts such as these are becoming almost commonplace anymore.
It follows the report of a disturbed woman aboard an American Airlines flight causing a scene in July when she demanded to get off the plane at the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport over a fellow passenger she claimed was “not real.”
“I’m telling you, I’m getting the f*** off, and there’s a reason why I’m getting the f*** off and everyone can either believe it or they can not believe it,” the woman yelled while walking toward the front of the plane. “I don’t give two f***s, but I am telling you right now — that motherf***er back there is NOT real.”

“You can sit on this plane, and you can die with them or not. I’m not going to,” she railed.
Comic Carrot Top claimed he was on the same flight as a woman that freaked out.
“The “f***ing nutjob just lost her mind in front of the whole plane,” the 58-year-old comic asserted, according to the New York Post.
“I hope she’s happy!!! We’re all stuck in Dallas now because of her,” he wrote at the time.
Last year, a woman was caught on video going ballistic at a Mexico City airport while attacking a check-in agent when she didn’t get her way, according to Fox News.

The woman arrived late to check in for her flight at the Mexico City International Airport and tried to pass off an expired passport. That caused an Emirates agent to deny the traveler the ability to board.
She got very angry with the employee and climbed over the counter. The incensed passenger began hitting the employee, then began to throw various items, including objects from a suitcase, computer equipment, and more. The unstable woman stood on top of the check-in counter and began yelling at other airport travelers.
She was eventually detained by airport security while police responded to the scene.
