President Joe Biden’s daughter owes unpaid income taxes dating back several years according to a report seeming to show that tax troubles are all in the family when it comes to the Bidens.
According to a tax lien docket that was obtained by the conservative outlet, Ashley Biden owes $5,000 for the period beginning in 2015 while her father was Barack Obama’s vice president until January 1, 2021, three weeks before he took the oath of office in militarized Washington, D.C.
Fox News Digital reports that on December 1, the “Pennsylvania Department of Revenue in Philadelphia County notified Biden that the ‘amount of such unpaid tax, interest, additions or penalties is a lien in favor of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania upon the taxpayer’s property – real, personal, or both – as the case may be,’ according to the notice.”
A lien is a legal claim on property imposed by a government entity to secure the payment of unpaid taxes.
“The scale is not anything like Hunter, but… Joe is constantly talking about how wealthy and connected people do not pay their fair share and can’t afford to pay more, and it just so happens that both of his living children did not pay their taxes,” Garrett Ziegler, a former Trump White House aide and founder of the nonprofit Marco Polo told Fox News Digital.
“This is just another example of the Bidens being careless,” Ziegler said. “Like, you’d think that they would show a little bit more prudence when you’re the first when you’re the American first family to make sure you don’t have any tax liens on you, especially going into an election year.”
Ziegler, the founder of a website where photos from Hunter Biden’s “laptop from hell” are posted, told the outlet that his research team came across Ashley Biden’s tax lien “while conducting a routine search in the Philadelphia County courthouse system.”
Ashley Biden is the youngest of President Biden’s kids and the only child he fathered with First Lady Jill Biden.
Hunter Biden was recently indicted on federal tax evasion charges for failing to pay “at least $1.4 million in self-assessed federal taxes he owed for tax years 2016 through 2019,” according to a Justice Department press release.
“Between 2016 and Oct. 15, 2020, the defendant spent this money on drugs, escorts and girlfriends, luxury hotels and rental properties, exotic cars, clothing, and other items of a personal nature, in short, everything but his taxes,” wrote Special Counsel David Weiss in the indictment.
He could face up to 17 years in prison if convicted.
“We’re not Republican activists,” Ziegler told Fox News Digital after the contents of the infamous laptop were published.
“None of us are registered Republicans,” he said. “In fact, I loved and still love Trump precisely because he wasn’t a standard Republican. So this is not a hit job. We’re going to keep all the photos that paint the Bidens in a good light and keep all the photos that paint the Bidens in a bad light. The American people can judge for themselves what they think about their first family through this.”
