A little over two months after cruising to an easy midterm election victory, defeating her Republican challenger by a margin of 70.6% to 27.5%, U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., already has her sights on being reelected in 2024.
On Thursday, AOC filed for re-election in the heavily Democratic 14th Congressional District in New York, according to Fox News, which cited newly filed Federal Election Commission documents.
Ocasio-Cortez’s electoral success is a good indication of how far left New York City is today, given the self-avowed socialist lawmaker’s radical views. To her credit, Ocasio-Cortez marches to her own drum even when that means going against President Biden and the agenda pursued by the White House.
One such example took place in October 2022, when Ocasio-Cortez criticized the president for not including illegal immigrants in his pardon for people federally convicted of simple marijuana possession.
“I can at least say with Latino voters, we’ve never tried as a party. The Democratic Party has not tried in terms of Latino electorates. And, I mean, where’s our Dream Act, where is our immigration reform. And even recently with President Biden’s marijuana executive order, I very much applaud that he went there, but he exempted people who were convicted if they were convicted while they were undocumented,” Ocasio-Cortez said during an episode of “Pod Save America”
Believe it or not, some on social media are pining for an Ocasio-Cortez 2024 White House run:
Well, her fiancé is definitely First Lady material

On the other hand, getting “rid” of the attention-loving Democrat would be music to the ears for some… here’s a quick sampling of other responses to the story from Twitter:
I wonder if she was at least a decent bartender.

Be a good American, vote her out of office.

It would be such a beautiful thing if NY got rid of her.

I really don’t follow politics, but she grandstands so much on Twitter and her fake cry at the border and fake being handcuffed sham…
