AMC has caved to pressure from the Queer Trans Project and has pulled screenings of a documentary called “No Way Back: The Reality of Gender-Affirming Care” which recounts the experiences of five individuals who underwent de-transitioning after changing their gender.

The movie features medical experts who go into detail concerning the “harm” that healthcare professionals are doing to young patients by pushing them to transition.
Screenings were set to begin on June 21, according to the Daily Mail. But after the radical group bullied AMC, they were tabled. The activists did not view the entire film so they only based their opinions of it on the trailer and the press surrounding the release.
So far, AMC has not released a statement on exactly why it pulled the film. But a source told Fox News that it was ostensibly due to poor ticket sales.
Laura Becker, who is one of the detransitioners in the documentary, told “Fox & Friends” on Monday that she feels it is being censored.

“I think it’s incredibly dangerous to set this precedent of suppressing free speech, suppressing viewpoints that basically are just unpopular or difficult to deal with,” Becker asserted.
The Queer Trans Project is a radical activist group that sends “Build-a-Queer kits” to transitioning LGBTQ+ individuals. The kits include chest binders and tucking tape.
The group set its sights on AMC, whipping up an online campaign to encourage protestors to send letters to AMC executives demanding they pull the release of the documentary.
After the documentary was pulled, the group sent a message out on Instagram stating, “We did it! Our community’s swift action is a testament to the power of advocacy and the importance of raising our voices against harmful content.”

“Your collective efforts have made a significant impact, and the decision to pull No Way Back from AMC theaters is a step towards fostering a more inclusive and respectful environment. Thank you for your dedication and commitment to creating positive change,” the message crowed.
Becker believes the film is extremely important because it addresses mental health issues that she feels should be looked at before someone jumps immediately into getting transgender medical treatment.
She began transitioning to being a male when she was a teenager. That involved taking testosterone and having her breasts removed. When she was 22, Becker decided to de-transition.
“I think that there is a large-scale eradication of boundaries and common sense, especially when it comes to children’s developmental health,” she noted. “They are being fast-tracked on a conveyor belt-like system to getting surgery and hormones which create permanent damages instead of addressing their actual mental health concerns.”

This isn’t a politically polarizing issue for Becker but she is grateful that conservatives are addressing it.
“There are many moderates, liberals, and independents, such as myself and the filmmakers who are just trying to increase awareness about mental health issues and medical ethics,” she commented.
“It’s not political, it is pro-gay. It is pro, you know, neurodivergent acceptance, all sorts of so-called liberal or progressive values. But in this case, the boundaries are being crossed to harm people, and the liberals are afraid to speak up about it,” Becker added.
The movie’s website didn’t hold back and is displaying a banner that announces, “We’ve been canceled! Intolerant, illiberal, histrionic IGNORANT loudmouths who have not even seen the film have pressured AMC theaters to make the hard decision to cancel our dates! DO NOT LET THEM WIN!”

Deplorable Films, the movie’s distribution company, issued a statement that showed support for the filmmakers and asserted that they will stand behind the movie.
“The filmmakers (some of whom are gay and/or have gay children) are dedicated, life-long, Liberal Democrats,” the statement contended.
“The film is not anti-trans people, nor is it even anti-sex-change surgery; there are trans people in the film speaking against the sudden rush to powerful drugs and major surgeries that [have] increased exponentially in the past decade, and which have statistically caused far more pain and suffering than they’ve prevented,” it stated.
According to the website, the film will be made available for streaming and will be on DVD “as soon as possible.”
