A growing number of voters think both President Biden and his son Hunter Biden did something illegal in regard to the younger Biden’s suspect foreign business dealings.
That’s according to a new Fox News survey, but the news isn’t all good for Republicans because the survey also shows that more than half of the respondents also think former president Donald Trump was involved in illegal action when it comes to his handling of classified documents and his efforts to “overturn the 2020 election.”
Released Monday, the survey shows that 52 percent of voters think Hunter Biden did something illegal in relation to his business dealings in Ukraine and China, the network reported. The total represents a high after an August survey had the number at 50 percent, which was a steep increase of 13 points from a December 2022 poll showing 39 percent saying Hunter committed a crime.
“That negative shift is seen across the board, as independents (+18 points), Democrats (+13), and Republicans (+11) are now all more likely to think Hunter did something that’s against the law since December,” Fox News noted.
As for President Biden, there is a steady increase in the number of people who think he did something illegal in regard to his son’s business dealings. The latest survey showed 40 percent saying the president took part in unlawful behavior, which is an increase from 38 percent in August and 35 percent in December 2022.

The Fox News poll found that 52 percent believe Trump did something illegal here, while 23 percent think he did something wrong, but not illegal. Another 24 percent say he didn’t do anything illicit.
No surprise, given how polarized we are as a nation, 86 percent of Democrats say Trump did something illegal, while only 18 percent of Republicans agree. Perhaps more troubling for the Trump campaign, a majority of independents — 53 percent —Â think the former president did something illegal.

On the question of whether the legal system is being fair in its treatment, Trump has a bit of an edge in that more respondents think he is being treated unjustly.
A whopping 68 percent believe Hunter Biden is being treated fairly, which is somewhat surprising. On the other hand, 55 percent say Trump is being treated fairly, compared to 44 percent who say he is being treated unfairly.
Breaking it down by party lines, Fox News reported, “Majorities of Democrats (60%), Republicans (75%), and independents (72%) agree Hunter Biden is being treated justly, but views are more partisan when it comes to Trump. Nine in 10 Democrats say he’s being treated impartially while 8 in 10 Republicans say he’s not. Independents say it’s fair play by a 16-point margin (56% fair vs. 40% unfair).”
