Andy Cohen and John Mayer are “in love” — not that there’s anything wrong with that.
“I am in love with John Mayer. We are in love with each other,” Cohen told Howard Stern on the sexually obsessed host’s SiriusXM show.
Cohen and Mayer have been longtime friends, with the singer-songwriter serenading Cohen for his 50th birthday, Mayer also “spoke at his Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony in February 2022, and attended the baby shower for Cohen’s son.” the New York Post noted.
“He’s an A-lister, who parties like a B-lister, with the free spirit of a C-lister,” Mayer said at the ceremony. “I love Andy more than I can tell you. He’s a brilliant human being, a hilarious cohort, a loving son and brother — and more recently he’s become a proud, engaged and deeply devoted father.”
For Cohen’s 50th birthday, Mayer did a cover of Diana Ross’s “It’s My House,” with the two exchanging a peck on the lips afterward.
“Swear on your children’s lives that there has never been anything sexual between you and John Mayer,” Stern cornered Cohen at one point.
“Yes. I do. I swear,” he replied, swearing on the lives of his children.
There have been rumors over the years of the two being in a sexual relationship, according to the Post, with Cohen having previously stated that they were not dating — all the while feeding the flames.
“Listen, we have a very sweet friendship, and we are together all the time. I think that I was not surprised because we also have a great love for each other. So, it just seems like the obvious assumption,” he told CNN in 2018.
Cohen commented on their friendship in iHeart’s podcast “Table for Two with Bruce Bozzi” back in December.
“John Mayer is someone who is very in touch with his emotions,” he said. “He very quickly in our friendship started saying, ‘You know what, I gotta tell you something — I love you.’”
“He is someone to say, ‘I love you and I cherish you and I cherish our friendship’ — just this stuff that straight guys aren’t necessarily supposed to say,” Cohen added.
