A veritable fountain of crackpot conspiracy theories about President Donald J. Trump, James Carville has a new one, and it’s a doozy.
The veteran Democrat strategist suggested that Trump actually wants to see Republicans go down in flames and that he’s trying to tank the upcoming midterms for the party because he secretly hates them.
In the latest of his unhinged rants, the 81-year-old “Ragin’ Cajun” theorized that Trump’s recent actions can only mean one thing: he’s exacting punishment on the GOP to “teach them a lesson.”

The mastermind of Bill Clinton’s shocking 1992 White House run – with a big assist from Ross Perot – Carville shared his bizarre theory with co-host Al Hunt on the latest edition of his “Politics War Room” podcast.
“Trump says people shouldn’t worry about AI, just go full speed ahead, he says that the troops killed in Iran can’t get certain benefits because we hadn’t declared war,” the salty-tongued senior said. “The only answer that I can come up with that explains the current behavior of Donald Trump is simply this, he wants the Republicans to lose.”
“He hates them, he wants to torture them,” Carville proclaimed, adding, “He thinks that he saved them, he taught them how to win, they turned their back on him and he’s going to teach them a lesson.”
Carville’s AI remarks refer to Trump’s championing of data centers despite growing public anger over the facilities which have been forced upon residents. In one recent Truth Social post, the president said that communities that opposed the data centers “want to end up being backwards and poor.”
The crotchety Louisianan’s wild speculation comes despite Trump’s headlining of the party’s first-ever midterm convention this week in Texas, an event in which the MAGA leader will tout his record, lay out the midterm stakes and rally the faithful to turn out at the polls to beat back the “communists” who are intent on destroying America.
Branded as a “Trumpapalooza” by RNC boss Joe Gruters, the two-day event will be held Wednesday and Thursday at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, a venue that is expected to be packed to the rafters with Trump addressing the crowd on both nights in speeches that are guaranteed to be chock full of bloody red meat to mobilize the troops for the stretch run.

Carville threw shade at Trump over the convention, claiming that “no one” he’s talked with thinks that it’s a good idea.
“It sounds insane, that you’d have a president who wants his political party to lose big,” he told Hunt. “But I can’t think of another explanation that really answers as many questions as this one does.”
The octogenarian Democrat has also on more than one occasion predicted that Trump will resign the presidency after the midterms.
