Another slam dunk lawsuit for Trump: Congressman insists Trump lied about kicking Epstein out of Mar-a-lago

Claims from a new regular to corporate media found a Democrat congressman warned that a “slam dunk lawsuit” could be in his future over claims about the president’s ties to Jeffrey Epstein.

Demonizing President Donald Trump remains the priority plank of the Democratic Party, and no amount of contrary evidence appears sufficient to deflate their efforts to connect him with the late convicted sex offender. The latest came from Virginia Rep. James Walkinshaw (D), who made the rounds on cable news peddling testimony from Epstein’s attorneys to claim the chief executive was “lying.”

During an appearance on MS NOW’s “The Weeknight,” the victor of the September special election to fill the seat of his onetime boss, late Rep. Gerry Connolly (D), who died from cancer in May 2025, disputed the president’s claim that the Epstein files exonerated him of alleged connections with the financier.

“I read a redacted document — illegally redacted, in my view — where Epstein’s lawyers had spoken to Trump, and Trump made it clear that he never kicked Epstein out of Mar-a-Lago,” Walkinshaw carefully asserted. “Why does he keep lying? Why has he done everything in his power to cover this up? Those are important questions, not to take away from any of the other individuals involved here.”

A similar claim had been made during an appearance on CNN with anchor John Berman after a clip of the president aboard Air Force One defending his reputation earned the reaction from the congressman, “Well, it’s a lie.”

Insisting the files hadn’t exonerated the president, Walkinshaw again turned to the recollection of an alleged conversation Epstein’s lawyers had with Trump. “For him to say he had nothing to do with Jeffrey Epstein is flat out absurd. I mean, one of the things we have learned through these files, through the subpoena of the Oversight Committee, is that Trump’s relationship with Epstein was much longer and much deeper than he has revealed publicly, and he has been lying about it for decades.”

As previously reported, following Trump’s assertion in July 2025 that he banned Epstein from Mar-a-Lago, the Wall Street Journal detailed that the 2003 ban had been prompted by the sex offender making sexual advances toward an 18-year-old beautician.

Additionally, it was reported that Trump had contacted the Palm Beach Police Department in the early 2000s to raise awareness about Epstein sexually abusing underage girls.

These realities didn’t stop the propaganda machine from rolling on as Maryland Rep. Jamie Raskin (D) similarly touted an alleged conversation had by Epstein’s lawyers.

Given that Trump has already announced his intent to sue journalist Michael Wolff for allegedly “conspiring with Epstein to do harm” to him, reactions on social media not only pointed to the evidence contradicting Walkinshaw’s claims but suggested there may be further legal action in the works related to his comments.
