AOC lets the truth slip about Kamala’s gal pal Liz Cheney

Democrat nominee Kamala Harris may be smitten with her new gal pal Liz Cheney but some in her party are quietly grumbling that it may not be the flex that she thinks it is.

The vice president has been campaigning with Dick Cheney’s daughter as she looks to peel off squishy suburban swing voters but instead could be cutting off her nose to spite her face.

One of those who isn’t pleased with the attention being given to the disgraced former congresswoman is the Democratic Party’s ideological thought leader, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) who let the truth slip out during a Monday CNN appearance.

When pressed by host Kate Bolduan about Kamala’s gushing over Cheney as a “true patriot,” AOC admitted that some – including herself – aren’t pleased with her campaign strategy.

The “Squad” leader answered, “There’s plenty of people that aren’t happy about that and I think that is part of the nature of putting together a coalition.”

“I don’t love it, but that doesn’t mean that we aren’t on the same team and we aren’t on the same page when it comes to who is unequivocally the better candidate in order to win the presidential election,” the progressive diva added, taking the high road about an optics problem that could alienate a key bloc of reliably Democrat voters.

Like Michigan Muslims who were already sour on Kamala even after the party scuttled “Genocide Joe” and aren’t likely to be impressed by her very special friend.

As former President Donald J. Trump recently explained at a rally near Dearborn, a majority Muslim city near Detroit, Cheney is a “Muslim hating warmonger” whose father was “responsible for invading the Middle East, killing millions of Arabs,” suggesting that Harris’ embrace of the J6 committee veteran is a sure signal that she will further escalate the wars.

And make no mistake, Harris’ chumming around with Cheney is a BIG problem in Dearborn, so much that one House Democrat, Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) is complaining that someone is putting up signs that Kamala loves Liz.

It’s not that the billboards are inaccurate because Harris is proud of landing the endorsements of the Cheneys and has displayed her on the campaign trail like a prized trophy. It’s an optics problem though, and Ocasio-Cortez isn’t the only one complaining about it.

“The truth of the matter is that there are a hell of a lot more working-class people who could vote for Kamala Harris than there are conservative Republicans,” Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) told the Associated Press last week.

Progressive Change Campaign Committee co-founder Adam Green also expressed dismay over Harris’ odd priorities.

Green told the AP, “There’s been an odd disconnect between the campaign’s economic populist ad strategy and the event strategy that focuses almost exclusively on Liz Cheney kumbaya optics that depress the base right as voting begins and don’t provably win more swing voters than bread-and-butter issues.”

Neocons like Cheney may be viewed as royalty inside of the nation’s capital, a city rife with warmongering think tanks, and in media newsrooms, but that sort of overrated cred doesn’t extend into the areas that will matter in next week’s election, and if Harris goes on to lose Michigan, she may regret her alliance with the “Muslim hating warmonger.”
