AOC says not all Latinos are running from Dems, just ‘shedding men…men…men!’

U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s apparent belief that the Democrat Party is only “shedding” Latino men is wrong, according to Texas congressional candidate Cassy Garcia.

Speaking on a panel on Fox News’s “The Ingraham Angle” this Wednesday, Garcia was asked by host Laura Ingraham to respond to Ocasio-Cortez’s recently made claim that mainly young Hispanic men are switching to the Republican Party.

“There’s a conversation to be had about men and male identity. … It’s not like we’re shedding Latino voters. We’re shedding men. Men,” the congresswoman had said during an appearance on the left-wing “Pod Save America” podcast this Tuesday.

After playing a clip of Ocasio-Cortez speaking, Ingraham then asked Garcia, “In your experience, it’s just men leaving the Democrat Party? What!?”

Garcia responded by stating that this isn’t the case at all.

Listen:

“Hispanic voters, we are common-sense voters. We believe in the American dream, you know, and we are tired of the Biden, Pelosi, queer agenda. We are hard-working. We want a strong and secure border. And that’s why we are seeing that shift in Hispanic voters — because the Democrat Party has left the Hispanic community,” she said.

Continuing the conversation, Ingraham then theorized that Ocasio-Cortez is attempting to demonize Hispanic men by making them out to be the new “white nationalists.”

“She’s trying to make this out to be a gender thing. That it’s the Hispanic men. I guess they’re the new white nationalists, according to this type of analysis,” she said.

“It’s like Dr. Biden coming over here and telling us that we’re unique as a breakfast taco, or know, or calling us Latinx,” Garcia replied.

This prompted Ingraham to ask about the origins of the term Latinx.

“What is Latinx? Does anyone even recognize Latinx?” she said.

Another panel contributor, Rep. Mayra Flores, then chimed in, “No, it’s trash.”

“So that was just totally made up, right? So that’s Hispandering — classic Hispandering,” Ingraham replied.

Classic Hispandering indeed.

The Ingraham panel occurred a day after Ocasio-Cortez’s “Pod Save America” podcast. She spent much of her time on the podcast complaining about how the Democrat Party is losing the Hispanic vote because it’s not doing enough to cater to illegal aliens.

“I can at least say, with Latino voters, we’ve never tried as a party. The Democrat Party has not tried in terms of Latino electorates. And, I mean, where’s our DREAM Act? Where is our immigration reform?” she said.

She further noted that President Joe Biden’s recent executive order pardoning federal inmates convicted of marijuana possession was problematic too because it didn’t apply to illegal aliens.

“And even recently with President Biden’s marijuana executive order, I very much applaud that he went there, but he exempted people who were convicted while they were undocumented, and that is 90 percent we’re looking at,” she said.

“The overwhelming majority of people who have been convicted that would benefit from that pardon have status complications, and so we really need to step up both in our efforts on campaign but also our efforts in governance,” Ocasio-Cortez added.

Nowhere in her commentary was there even the slightest recognition that Hispanics are flocking to the GOP because they prefer the GOP’s positions on a variety of issues, INCLUDING illegal migration.

Take, for instance, the Hispanic community’s response to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis shipping 50 illegal aliens to Martha’s Vineyard.

“Amid all the controversy, Florida Hispanics side with the governor on the Martha’s Vineyard flight, with 50% in favor and 43% opposed to the relocation,” NBC News reported Monday, citing a new poll from Mason-Dixon Polling & Strategy.

“Support for DeSantis’ migrant relocation move was strongest among Hispanic immigrants. Those born outside the United States favored the policy by 52% to 41%, according to the poll. Those born in the United States were almost equally divided, with 49% in favor and 45% opposed,” NBC News added.

Now compare the community’s overall response to the response of Democrats like Ocasio-Cortez:

“Crimes against humanity”?

Democrats appear to believe that the only issue motivating Hispanics is illegal migration. Moreover, they automatically assume every Hispanic supports illegal migration. They’re wrong on both counts.

As noted by Garcia and Flores during Wednesday’s panel, Hispanics are about a lot more.

“My father was a Democrat all his life, and he said they walked away from our values. They are no longer standing with God, in family and hard work. They stand against everything I was raised with, and that’s the reason why so many people are walking away,” Flores said.

“Now they’re calling us racist? Racist for what? For wanting our life back — the life we had two years ago? Two years ago, we had more money in our pockets. We were able to provide for our kids. Now, our families are struggling to pay their rent, groceries, gas. These are the issues that are impacting the American people. These are the issues that are impacting my district,” she added.
