AOC sets her sights for either Schumer or Trump in 2028: report

Ambition may be getting the better of U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), according to a report that the former Bronx bartender and self-avowed socialist is gearing up for a big campaign in 2028 — as in a bigger office.

That’s according to an Axios report that AOC and her team “are positioning her to run for president or the U.S. Senate in 2028,” which means she’s looking to succeed either Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) or President Donald J. Trump in the White House.

Given her arrogance, the latter is more likely. Axios’s Alex Thompson reported that “some close allies believe that even if Ocasio-Cortez doesn’t think she could win, she may want to run for the White House to ensure that the Democratic Party’s progressive wing is represented in the primary.”

A longtime aide to Sen Bernie Sanders (I-VT) suggested that AOC may have a wider base than her socialist colleague.

“She has a supporter base that, in many ways, has a larger potential width than Bernie’s. She has been in the glare of the spotlight from day one and has the national campaigning experience a lot of other potential candidates are now trying to get,” the source said.

“It would be the height of arrogance to assume she couldn’t win the 2028 nomination,” the person added.

Of course, if mentally impaired Joe Biden and ill-prepared Kamala Harris can become the Democratic nominee, anything is possible.

A puffed-up AOC added to her shameful legacy Friday when she joined 57 fellow Democrats to oppose a resolution honoring slain Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, while slandering the conservative activist.

“We should be clear about who Charlie Kirk was… His rhetoric and beliefs were ignorant, uneducated, and sought to disenfranchise millions of Americans,” she said on the House floor. “Far from the quote working tirelessly to promote unity, unquote, asserted by the majority in this resolution.”

Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen on X:
