Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is coming under fire after it appears she was advising illegal aliens on how to avoid immigration authorities.
A clip of an NPR interview is making the rounds on X because critics claim it is proof that AOC is disregarding the rule of law in an attempt to protect illegal immigrants. In the comments, people are even calling for her arrest and believe the feds should make an example of her.
Watch:
NPR: “Tom Homan was upset because he felt that you were giving advice to people who were here illegally. Were you?”
AOC: “I was giving advice to ALL of my constituents, yeah.” pic.twitter.com/xFnVJoTMon

“You had a recent dispute, if that’s the right word, with Tom Homan, [President Donald Trump’s] homeland security czar, so called. You held an online forum, a ‘Know Your Rights’ forum, that he didn’t like. What were you doing, what was your goal as you saw it?” Ocasio-Cortez was asked.
“My job is to educate and act as a liaison of critical information to my constituents, and I was informing all of my constituents of their constitutional protections and in particular, their constitutional protections against illegal search and seizure in the United States,” the lawmaker said.
“Homan was upset, I suppose, because he believed you were giving advice to people who are here illegally,” the host continued. “Were you?”
“I was giving advice to all of my constituents,” she reiterated.
“He said he was going to report you or even that he did reach out to the Department of Justice. Have you heard from the Department of Justice?”
“I have not, and intend on reaching out to the Department of Justice to inquire,” AOC responded.
“Really? What would your question be for the Department of Justice?” the host asked, sounding taken aback.
“Well, there is a member of the Trump administration who is threatening and seeks to open an inquiry and are you going to do it?” she stated.
“what do you hope to learn from that exchange?” the host grinned.
“I think it’s important to know where this administration stands and if they intend to use political intimidation to silence their critics.”
Commenters had a lot to say:
AOC is a criminal who was intentionally aiding illegals to evade ICE.
That is a blatant federal crime that must be punished.

Sounds like a confession to me.

There you have it. Investigate.

For those interested in the legality of this:
“Harboring or Encouraging Illegal Presence, 8 U.S.C. § 1324” makes it a felony to knowingly encourage or assist illegal immigrants to remain in the U.S. unlawfully.
If AOCs advice is specific enough, it’s a crime under this statute.

If they’re here illegally they’re not “constituents”
