When it comes to examples of why the mainstream media has lost all credibility with millions of Americans, one need look no further than the Associated Press and its defense of the slobbish appearance of Senator John Fetterman (D-Pa.) that suggests his lack of decorum is a sign that his treatment for clinical depression is working.
The Pennsylvania left-winger has mostly forgone the traditional professional dress code for the Senate by showing up for work looking like a homeless vagrant who just crawled out of a dumpster, stalking the halls of the Capitol clad in a grungy hoodie, shorts, and tennis shoes. And last week, he drew criticism after he spoke at a press conference on the debt ceiling and the 14th Amendment in a white Carhartt hoodie, towering over his fellow lawmakers who were attired in suits.
Long one of the nation’s most respected sources for news before it became just another organ for Democratic Party propaganda, AP was ridiculed over its explaining away the hulking, tattooed working class hero’s slovenly appearance as a sign of progress after he missed time at work after checking into the hospital earlier this year.
Sen. John Fetterman used to walk the halls of the Senate stone-faced and in formal suits. Now, he’s more relaxed, in hoodies and gym shorts.

“Before Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman checked himself in to the hospital for clinical depression in February, he walked the halls of the Senate stone-faced and dressed in formal suits,” AP wrote. “These days, he’s back to wearing the hoodies and gym shorts he was known for before he became a senator.”
“People close to Fetterman say his relaxed, comfortable style is a sign that the senator is making a robust recovery after six weeks of inpatient treatment at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center,” the outlet added.
To prove its point about the miraculous mental benefits of being a slob, AP quotes some of Fetterman’s fellow party members.
“He’s setting a new dress code,” said Sen. Peter Welch (D-VT) of his dumpy colleague. “He was struggling. And now he’s a joyful person to be around.”
“It’s really, really great to see, it’s a good message to send to people to seek help,” said Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-IL). “It makes a difference.”
AP’s excusing away of Fetterman’s unprofessional appearance was sandblasted by Twitter users who ridiculed an article that couldn’t have been more biased if it were written by the DNC.
He was healthy. He could perform all of his job abilities normally according to doctor's letter during the campaign.
Now he must be accommodated and allowed to wear a hoodie and gym shorts or he will fall back into crippling depression. https://t.co/VuWI1bWjMo

Depression is not cured after 6 weeks.
And hoodies and gym shorts are inappropriate attire.Stop this, AP. You look ridiculous.

This is NOT a serious story.

I’m old enough to remember when AP was a trusted source for news worldwide. Now, it’s merely a shell of itself. An extension arm for Dem and liberal propaganda. Nothing more.

How do those gym shorts taste AP? This level of sycophantic water carrying is just nauseating.
— Nancy the Neanderthal (@nan_mclellan) May 22, 2023
What the hell is this hot mess of a take? The media are just complicit in all degrees of decline, AREN’T THEY.

Did you hurt yourself with that reach?

“Dressing like a homeless man is progress.”
You guys are just trolling at this point.
— Rightwing_Vet (@Florida_Veteran) May 21, 2023
He’s brain-damaged, dresses like he’s going to spend the day hanging around outside of a vape shop, and is completely unqualified for the job he has. Is it any wonder he’s depressed?

AP is increasingly more brazen with propaganda pieces these days.
— Kyle Raccio (@kyleraccio) May 21, 2023
Will AP report news, not propaganda? This narrative is laughable.

Looks like a slob and can’t complete a coherent sentence and the media is praising him. Because he’s part of “The Party”
— Sir Paul Alves (@StarshipAlves) May 21, 2023
You know, expecting a senator to speak in complete sentences and wear a button-down shirt and long pants is a really, really low bar to set for minimum performance, yet you shills can’t even do that.

Just delete your account, @AP.

AP used to pretend in public it was even-handed and objective with the news, which was serious business. Now, they’re more relaxed, intellectually wrapped in fleece.
Democrats close to the AP say it’s a sign of progress after decades of presenting both sides, which was immoral.

“It’s truly unbecoming for someone to show up like that to any job, let alone a job that only 100 people are elected to do,” Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) tweeted last week after Fetterman’s unkempt appearance at the presser. “There’s just no excuse for it.”
