Arizona taco shop post sparks backlash over ‘white culture’ claim

A self-hating white leftist woman is facing massive backlash after she tarnished a taco restaurant just because its owners are white.

The woman, Lily Kaplan of Arizona, posted a TikTok video on June 1 to her now-missing TikTok Account, @LilyInArizona, containing a review of a new Phoenix restaurant called Poolboy. The review was full of anti-white hatred.

“Trigger warning, this is an unfriendly review of Poolboy,” she began. “I really thought I wasn’t going to like this place because I’m just over kind of white restaurant culture here in the Valley. I think the food quality isn’t that great, and white culture in general in the U.S. is giving racism, misogyny, and pedophilia [vibes] these days.”

“And it’s just such a bummer to see another duo, white men, brothers, opening a really, really mediocre restaurant. Overall, I think this place really represents the state of America. It’s white men doing things that aren’t that great or remarkable just because they’re the only ones who have the capital to do it because of centuries of the patriarchy and racism,” she added.

In an interview with The Arizona Republic, Poolboy owner brothers Jared and Aaron Pool, who also own Gadzooks Enchiladas and Soup and The Green Woodpecker, tore into Kaplan.

“You don’t know me,” Aaron bluntly said. “It’s not that I have a lot of money. I have debt from operating through the pandemic.”

He added that he didn’t understand why she paid the restaurant a visit if she already knew in advance that she’d dislike it.

“I’ve been building this brand for six years,” he continued. “This is me. We have never taken ourselves seriously and said that we are authentically a taqueria. It’s all of the life experiences I have gone through put together. It’s just a better version of Taco Bell.”

Also speaking with the paper, Kaplan denied that her video was about so-called cultural appropriation — a fake term conceived by narcissistic minorities who resent other people taking part in and enjoying their culture.

“I did not talk about cultural appropriation,” she said. “Like, white people should be able to make tacos. It’s an American food.”

She added that her real focus was to spark conversations about the Epstein files.

“It’s just an opinion that I have — I’m just frustrated with the Epstein stuff, and we are not talking about it,” she said.

When asked what the hell Poolboy has to do with Epstein, Kaplan cited so-called “vibes.”

“I just had the vibe that they don’t represent diversity,” she said. “I understand that it’s a wild thing to say in a food review. If they are not aligned with Trump and pedophilia, then we should talk about it. I don’t know, and I don’t really care.”

Prior to disabling her TikTok, Kaplan posted a video doubling down on her bullshit and arguing that she isn’t anti-white because she’s punching up instead of punching down, whatever that means.

“It’s punching up, not punching down,” she maintained. “You can’t make the argument that, well, how would you feel if this was a, if you were dogging on a black business? I wouldn’t do that because that’s punching down and that’s morally wrong.”

“Any segment of the population that’s not white and male is gonna have a multi-fold harder time finding opportunities to start a business. It’s a completely different context at that point. There’s no similarities. It’s just, you’re taking race at the most surface level, most surface level, like, definition. It’s so lazy. They’re just f–king idiots, low-key,” she added.

Kaplan is the very definition of an AWFL, or affluent white female liberal. They’re the ultimate in white saviors — the type of people who spend all day trashing their own race while sucking up to and making excuses for bad behavior by minorities, especially blacks.
