A top social justice warrior from San Francisco has been arrested after it was discovered she paid her son $10,000 to make five slides. But there’s more. Much more.
Sheryl Davis, former head of the San Francisco Human Rights Commission, was arrested on Monday on a multitude of corruption charges.
Davis awarded city contracts totaling more than $3.5 million to the Homeless Children’s Network, a San Francisco-based nonprofit that offers substance abuse counseling and support services to at-risk families, the New York Post reported. Prosecutors allege that the organization then made “questionable” payments to Davis’ son, amounting to over $140,000.

These payments included a $10,000 fee for the son to make “five presentation slides for a panel” that the Homeless Children’s Network’s Executive Director was participating in, along with “answers to questions she could be asked,” according to the Post.
The payments awarded to Davis’ son, Henry Davis, over the course of three years, created the “appearance of impropriety and unfairness,” prosecutors charged.
Henry Davis has not been charged, but was allowed to “insert a description of work he would perform into contracts” and was able to set his own pay rate according to the affidavit, the Post reported.
Davis has also been accused of a “pervasive pattern of self-dealing” while running the scandal-ridden $120 million Dream Keeper initiative, supposedly meant to help local black communities.
James Spingola, Davis’ live-in partner, was arrested on four felony counts for colluding with Davis’ alleged long-running schemes.
The story sparked reactions on X, where no one was surprised:
I bet practically all of Californias government officials are completely corrupt.

In California the homeless industrial complex is real. Lots of organizations are getting lots of money

Legitimate businesses can’t work with cities without a 2 year RFP for a measly $10k contract, but a nonprofit gets $X00,000 of taxpayer funds for free and just gives it to the CEO’s son with no oversight. End this nonprofit industrial complex now.
