Arrested NJ mayor, lawmakers try to convince us bodycam video is ‘manufactured truth’

The saga of the New Jersey lawmakers continues, now with Newark Mayor Ras J. Baraka telling people not to believe their lying eyes.

On Sunday, Baraka shared video footage of the storming of an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility, which had resulted in his arrest. Federal officials claim that Baraka, along with lawmakers LaMonica McIver, Bonnie Watson Coleman, and Rob Menendez, aggressively confronted agents at the Delaney Hall Detention Center. Charges for the remaining lawmakers have not been taken off the table, according to a BizPac Review report on the incident.

Now, Baraka is trying to convince those who have seen the footage that it is “manufactured truth” and is not legitimate.

“Yes, check the tape. The aggression was from the people in masks, hiding their identity. And the whole world has seen it. Manufactured truth is still not truth. There has to be something incredibly wrong with lying on Mothers day,” he wrote in an X post.

Unfortunately for the mayor, X users still remember the Democrats’ favorite mantra: “Nobody is above the law.”
