North Carolina’s leftist city of Asheville is allegedly considering passing a $2.9 million reparations package that is explicitly racist in nature.
According to Matt Van Swol, who’s alleged to have read the full “170 page report” on the reparations package, the plan doesn’t call for just handing out money to all blacks, which sadly is why it’s not receiving much attention.
Instead, the plan reportedly calls for doling out reparations by establishing black-only policies that are inherently racist in nature.
We have a serious problem here in Asheville NC.
The county is about to spend $2.9 million in taxpayer funds on racial reparations.
I took a deep dive into the 170 page report, and what I found is terrifying.

It starts with a “race-targeted housing policy” to “sustain and expand rates of [b]lack homeownership” through the application of “targeted funding” for businesses only owned by blacks.
Van Swol complained in a tweet that this policy is a violation of the 14th Amendment, noting that “[i]f you’re a poor white, latino, asian… or any other race, but black… Tough luck. You don’t get the money.”
First up is a “race-targeted housing policy”

The reparations package also calls for free health-care related transportation, but only for “expectant [b]lack mothers.”

The package further calls for instituting a Black Chamber of Commerce. For clarification, there is no such thing as a White Chamber of Commerce.
The report is furious that only 14% of total Community Development Block Grants were award to black led non profits…

Next, the package says that when conducting hiring, the city must include “women or individuals from historically marginalized groups” or else “provide a justification to Human Resources” for the supposed lack of diversity.
What about hiring?
Well, there’s a brand new policy!
It is called: “The No Diverse Finalist Policy”
TLDR: If there are no diverse candidates, the chair must justify this to HR.

Similarly, any city managers hired by Asheville must pass a “mandatory” diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) course.

The package also calls for using “racial equity metrics” to determine the amount of funding schools should receive.
You thought it just had to do with adults?
No. They want to create direct incentives to treat students differently by race, including tying it to school funding.

And finally, the package reportedly admits that it seeks “control” over the power to reduce disparities in education outcomes and “promote equity.”
Then… finally, they just say the quiet part out loud.
A shocking admission that all they really want, is more control.

“Equity” is, as previously reported, an insidious ideology that calls for rectifying historical discrimination committed against Group A by Group B through committing modern discrimination against Group B.
The irony is that Asheville appears to be doubling down on “woke” despite having just been abandoned by the “woke” Biden administration last year …
