Australia guy sets up gofundme page for travel to US to squat at Billie Eilish’s mansion

An Australian political activist has started a GiveSendGo account to troll Billie Eilish.

Eilish’s political commentary at the Grammy Awards has sparked plenty of responses, from general backlash to a reply from a local Native American tribe. But the outrage extended down under, where Drew Pavlou decided to start funding a trip to America so he could “move into Billie Eilish’s $6 million Malibu beachfront mansion.” After all, if “no one is illegal on stolen land,” why shouldn’t he?

Look:

“Everything here is completely and totally legal, I am just going to set up a tent on her driveway and I will leave when they formally ask me to leave,” he explained of his plan.

“Update: I actually bought my flights to the US for next week,” he noted on Tuesday. “I am actually going to try to set up a tent on the footpath outside Billie Eilish’s mansion.”

But that’s when the plan hit a snag.

“Okay, update: It appears that the Billie Eilish Malibu mansion actually burned down in the LA fires,” he wrote, after being informed by an X user. “FUC*ING HELL I am recalculating – I will probably just go to the other mansion.”

“This is so fucking unfair because the Malibu beachside mansion was particularly funny,” he added.

The effort came amid Eilish’s declaration on Sunday, which caused a significant amount of backlash for how tone-deaf it sounded.

“As grateful as I feel, I honestly don’t feel like I need to say anything but that no one is illegal on stolen land,” she said in her award acceptance speech. “It’s just really hard to know what to say and what to do right now, and I just feel really hopeful in this room, and I feel like we just need to keep fighting and speaking up and protesting, and our voices really do matter, and the people matter. And f**k ICE, that’s all I’m gonna say. Sorry!”
