Awkward and ‘sad’ moment when Biden spells out ‘D-O-T’ while reading website off teleprompter

President Joe Biden is back in the headlines for making a verbal fumble while trying to dish out info to help stop fraud in his recent student loan debt forgiveness program.

Government handouts are commonly used by scammers and fraudsters looking to make a quick buck off the backs of the vulnerable. Biden’s recent plan to help college graduates forgive a portion of their student loan debt has come under fire by Republicans, many of whom worry about the chances for abuse.

During the launch of the government portal that will allow people with an annual income of under $125,000 to apply for the forgiveness program, the president also listed the Federal Trade Commission’s website where people can report fraud related to the program.

That’s when it all went sideways:

“If you get any questionable calls, please tell us by going to report fraud…report fraud, D-O-T, F-T-C, dot gov,” he said.

Twitter had a field day with this one:
