Former Obama adviser David Axelrod drew the ire of President Joe Biden over his remarks perceived to be shoving the elderly Democrat out the door and his latest remarks are unlikely to go over well at the White House.
The Democrat strategist and CNN political commentator discussed yet another dismal poll for the deeply unpopular incumbent, a Wall Street Journal survey that shows Biden’s approval rating at a new low and even worse, him losing the election to GOP frontrunner Donald J. Trump.
During the latest episode of the “Hacks on Tap” podcast which Axelrod hosts with fellow Obama regime alumni Robert Gibbs and political consultant Mike Murphy, he again signaled troubled sailing for Biden with the WSJ poll being “very, very dark” for his reelection hopes.
“You know, job approval down, ratings generally down, most of the comparatives with Trump … not good,” he said according to The Hill which reported on the Obama whisperer’s remarks.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the “unhappiness with Biden is pervasive” and he would lose the election to Trump 47-43 percent despite the former president’s legal issues and a yearslong onslaught of negative media propaganda, causing great concern among Democrats who think that a change at the top of the ticket is desperately needed to avert disaster.
“You know what I worry about … from a Biden standpoint is there are the kinds of things you get when people are starting to rationalize their votes — ‘Oh look, they’re ready to fire Biden, that’s a problem,’” he said.
“And they just put out another photo op with the Bidenomics sign next to him … it’s just unbelievable to me,” added Axelrod, referring to the White House continuing to push the “Bidenomics” scam even though it’s obvious that it isn’t selling with real Americans who have been getting kicked in the gut at the grocery store since the geriatric bumbler took office.
He added that the private polling that he knows of doesn’t seem like “it’s quite that bad … but it’s bad.”
Axelrod’s comments come after he first rattled cages at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW last month after a New York Times-Siena College poll showing Biden losing to Trump in five critical battleground states, numbers that hit the Democrat-dominated political establishment like an incoming stealth missile.
“It’s very late to change horses; a lot will happen in the next year that no one can predict & Biden’s team says his resolve to run is firm. He’s defied CW before but this will send tremors of doubt thru the party–not ‘bed-wetting,’ but legitimate concern,” Axelrod wrote on X, formerly Twitter with a screenshot of the shock numbers.

But it was another tweet that triggered Biden loyalists with Obama’s ruthless hatchet man seeming to be calling for Biden to call it a career or risk being humiliated by a loss to Trump.
“Only @JoeBiden can make this decision. If he continues to run, he will be the nominee of the Democratic Party. What he needs to decide is whether that is wise; whether it’s in HIS best interest or the country’s?” Axelrod wrote.

The uproar led to him denying that he had called for Biden to quit but it put a serious burr under the president’s saddle with him reportedly referring to Axelrod in rather profane terms, privately referring to him as a “pr*ck” according to Politico.
After his latest remarks, the notoriously foul-mouthed Biden may go even farther than that.
